Although invasive and destructive, possible quite tasty, isn't eating a Razorback a little suspect while rooting for them at the same time.

I actually raised a Razorback once, and traded Him off to be a stud for a Hog farmer.
I myself don't like to eat wild hogs. I'm not particularly fond of the taste. Of course I will eat anything if someone else cooks, and serves it up. LoL

yea., the govt. spends big bucks fighting that stuff, only to lose. A goat farmer lets his goats go at it and they cleared the whole area, lol. Now he offers his goats for a price, job gets done, goats get full and the taxpayer pays nothing.

I lived in Jonesboro for 5th, 6th, and 7th grades. Worst 5 years of my life. LOL!

I did actually. Lived with my grandparents. We were allowed to take up to 2 weeks out of school to hunt during deer season. We hunted for a week every season near Hardy. Some of my best memories hunting with my grandfather.

Wild hogs are pretty terrible. If they’re young and you drain the blood for awhile they’re edible. Notice I didn’t say good?

Although that was just joking, I really was a terrible student. 6 different schools in 3 different states may have contributed.

back to Portal talk. The week Penn State is to play SMU, the 2nd string QB (who actually plays around 20 snaps a game) entered the portal and will not play for the team any longer. OSU has severla players in the portal, they will play in the play offs, other teams as well.

Another thing mentioned on Patrick today was all these kids entering the portal give up certain bennies and if not picked up lose their eligibility. I get it, he has a chance to start at another college, possibly get more NIL. The college says we need to know now or we move on, plus we can't risk injury so do not play, because this can't be official until you sign and you cannot sign if you are still on the team. What a freakibg mess.

I remember the days when, if a player transferred, he had to sit out a season. The NCAA does need to nip this in the bud with some sensible rule changes.

    1. the portal should only be open for a limited period of time that begins after all teams are done playing. Maybe February 1 - March 31 or April 30. After that, players have to wait until the next portal period if they want to transfer.
    2. A no tampering rule with significant monetary fines and loss of postseason eligibility for teams caught tampering outside of the period.
    3. If a player decides during the season to quit on his team and enter the portal, that’s allowed, but the player cannot be contacted or initiate discussion with other teams until the portal opens.

To me those are simple rules that could help lessen the insanity. NIL is another beast, and I’m not sure how to tackle that one in a way that brings things back to reasonableness while still allowing players to get a share of the pie for their play. It’s going to take some thought.
