As of Yesterday the Razorbacks have lost the most players already.
We have lost 24 players already to the transfer Portal.
It is so bad that the meaningless bowl game we are in went from the Razorbacks favored by(I believe) 6 to Texas Tech now being favored . As My Brother often says......its
Hard to be a Razorbacks fan.

Have they decided to keep the coach? Many times that is a factor with players transferring.

Better to be like UCONN and not have anyone that other teams want to poach.

UCONN is actually 8-4 and playing UNC in the Fenway Bowl. They are losing a decent RB to the portal so far.

What’s really funny is that the UCONN RB I mentioned, Durrell Robinson, has an offer from Arkansas (Auburn too).

It is a mess, Marshall refused to extend their HC after a pretty nice season, he went to Southern Miss and many on the team are following him. I had a post on FB yesterday about an OLB from I believe FL, whose demands were 45,000 a game (OK you ask what the going rate is), but then he would start every game, and guarantee he would be in for every 3rd down situation. They would not, so he went to the portal. The NIL money is one thing, and it needs to have more accountability overall, but demanding and seeking guarantees on specific plays are just ridicules. WTF are coach's supposed to do, spoon feed these children and not make gametime decisions for the good of the team?

If they do not get a handle on this the results are not going to be good.

This could be a reason the NCAA has to stop the Transfer Portal. If college teams start having to cancel their bowl games, because they no longer have enough players to compete, you can bet the NCAA will get involved, because it will cost them millions in TV revenue.

Or, at least close the Transferal portal during the season. I am still not understanding why players are transferring out of their old schools to go to new schools during the season.

Funny, it says they are now looking for teams that did not have a winning record to sub in for Marshal..... Hey you, I know you finished last in your division, and didn't win a game all year, but would you like to play in a bowl game tomorrow? :)

I can't see CFB trying to put the toothpaste back into the tube. A rules overhaul might be good but transfer portal and NIL is here to stay. Personally, I'm still going to watch bowl games. If nothing else, it's an opportunity to see up and coming younger guys get on the field in meaningful football games, although meaningful can be debated.

Hate this for you guys. Pittman seems like a good guy and OL coach but seems to be in over his head as an HC in the SEC. He's got the marquee win over TN but not sure that's going to be enough. What is the money situation for the collective at Arkansas?

    OR...Continue to say no.
Currently there is no 'salary cap' with NIL. Players are going to seek the biggest deals they can get each and every offseason. I don't blame them. I also don't blame programs for hiring GMs to handle all the negotiations so the coaches can just coach. This was a big part of the Bellichick to UNC talk this week. Having someone in position to place values on players and recruit to a budget.(Paraphrasing) Supposedly, I keep hearing and reading, the NCAA is working out a way to structure a 'salary cap'. Although we all know that just means 'legal payments', the illegal ones will continue just as they always have. Boosters tampering and recruiting for their programs behind the scenes is so blatantly obvious with the number of transfers that hit the portal as soon as the final whistle sounds on their season. Now, gambling sites are sponsoring stadiums and events. There is no such thing as amateur sports anymore past Jr. High. Even highschool students are being offered "scholarships" to move states to play at prestigious prep schools all around the country. There really is no stopping it.

Agreed, there is no stopping it, but they need to get on top of it. As it stands now there is no real federal legislation, different states have passed some which just makes things murky as schools try and navigate through this. The NCAA has always been a joke, and it was reported that head trustee at NC actually reached out to Belichick. At some point the lunacy will become unbearable. Some schools will just drop out, others possibly forced out because the cost vs. return just is not worth the effort. I have watched some speculate that in time it will look more like an NFL type system with 40 to 60 schools. I have no idea about that number, because conferences now are larger than that (in total), but do see 130 teams in FBS as unmanageable under the current format. One thing for sure, the tradition of college football will never return, it will continue to evolve into a more pro format.

Soon looking through 2 year JR college ranks to fill the bowls, lol. The report I saw was Marshall did not offer a new contract to the Coach,so he signed with Southern Miss. have no idea if he asked them to match the offer, or they just did not try and re-sign him, bottom line the players used the transfer rule for a coach leaving and the school is left without a team. I have heard some commenting the the transfer portal should be moved until after the championship game, which might help, but you have guys who think they have a chance at the NFL dropping out and those who think they can make more in NIL not wanting to risk injury in a game no one cares about.

LoL. I have lived in 7 states. Arkansas is one of the easiest, more beautiful, laid-back, and mainly nice weather places I have ever lived.
It's been said it's one of the only states you could build a fence around, and they wouldn't have to import most stuff.
