It is definitely nice to see Burns making a play, but the ability to do something special here and there isn't the issue for Burns. The issue is consistency. Can he stop getting caught peeking into the backfield or otherwise blowing his coverage responsibility entirely? He gives up far too many big plays.

Edmunds was in with the starters and promptly got burnt by McDonald for a score. Now we will start to see what's what.

    Do not forget infallible either.

They might as well be handed the Super Bowl at this point. :lolol:

Those "senses" I had earlier this offseason are beginning to creep back up again.

A rookie making rookie mistakes isn't too much of a surprise.

If it happens every day for the rest of the two weeks, then maybe we start to panic...

Nice play by the rookie, I guess you spoke too soon . Give the guy a chance to prove himself, before you continually bash him.

Maybe coach Bradley can help Burns with that.

He will not I am afraid.

However, when Justin Reid makes plays for Houston, we will know about it. :lolol:

Mike Tomlin earns over 7 million dollars per season and you can decide for yourself if he 'earns' it. I've decided long ago about that. Mike will loudly tout 'good player effort' season after season, yet they have failed to reach a Super Bowl since their loss in February 2011. Just the facts.

The entire team did not play poorly. Fine if that's what you believe.

Blaming coaches for player mistakes isn't logical. Why not blame the players? Players are mostly responsible for wins or losses.

Tomlin still has his job. I doubt he's going anywhere as long as the team continues to win. Tomlin proved that he can help this organization make it to the Superbowl.

Reading this board you would think the Steelers were a 3-13 team. When the Steelers consistently turn into a 3-13 team that loses consistently instead of a 13-3 team that wins consistently then it will be time for change. You are seeking perfection when there isn't any to be had.

Nice pick by the young buck... BUT WTF IS BEN THINKING THERE? 2 guys underneath on that pass he forced towards the side line! That's now 2 picks to the same side of the field!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA sorry I don't have green font capabilities on my aged machinery.

When I say team I am talking about units as a whole O and D. The D played very poorly that can't be argued....I hope. The O put us in a terrible hole with the TOs and overall lack of execution. We pulled a couple miracle heaves out of our asses and a TD late to make the final tally look like a great offensive performance...it was clearly not. I have to go back and check the box score to see how Boswell did because I don't want to be accused of saying the entire team played poorly...
I also believe that both coaches and players share the blame in a poor performance. The preparation leading up to a game is just as important as game execution. There's a reason a coach like Bellichick can take a revolving door of players and win on a consistent basis. There's a reason they beat and most times destroy the teams they are supposed to beat. It's because they are over prepared (focused) no matter the competition.
There is also a reason a team like the Eagles can overcome losing their starting QB having a MVP season and go on to win a SB with a journeyman QB.....they put him in a position to succeed. I've seen way to many poor performances from a team with this talent. I've seen quite a few game plans on both O and D that clearly showed a lack of preparedness.
I'm not a Tomlin hater but I'm not a apologist either...I just simply point out his short comings. The word fan comes from fanatic so it's my and others prerogative if they choose not to be satisfied with a 13-3 record and a ass kicking on your home field in the playoffs. There are things to be critical of ,so I choose to criticize. Pro sports are entertainment and a escape. I realize perfection is unattainable but it won't stop me from wanting that from the teams I'm a fan(atic) of....I'm passionate about my sports teams and to me it's always championship or bust ,whether it's realistic or not it's how I choose to root for my teams. Others fanaticism may vary.....

Given the fact that McDonald cannot stay healthy during his tenure here, I suppose now is good a time as any to see what Jesse James can really do. He is slated to become a Free Agent next season.

Regarding Sean Davis, I also imagine that we will likely see Marcus Allen tomorrow the same assuming Burnett cannot be ready for tomorrow. Would be a great time to observe more of Terrell's talents and observe Allen more the same.

I think we’ve already seen what James can do. Decent player, but not a play maker. A good 2nd string TE IMO.

But a solid safety valve player for Ben. JJ may not have the skill set Vance does but I think people often overlook his chemistry with Ben and that alone raises his value despite his limitations.

I like James. I just think expecting him to be the number 1 guy at TE is a mistake.
I was just responding to the OP comment that it’s time to see what James can really do. We’ve already seen everything he can do.

Yeah we know what he is... He won't get faster or more athletic but he's improved in my opinion every year and that's prettying uplfting for him the team and the position. He's a solid player and still has the ability to fundamentally get even better. I like the outlaw!

Yeah I like him too and I’m glad he’s on the team. I just don’t see any major jump in his play. I agree with you though that he has improved each season.
