The thing I don't like is players saying I'm 100% and the team just taking their word for it. Remember Ladarius Green?

If they can force Ben to go back under center this is going to be a huge improvement for Canada's running attack.

Speed, Speed, Speed. Canada should be able to have blockers coming from all directions.

Get Watt and Freiermuth on the fieldrunning both a sub 4.75

    40yd time
    Dotson: 4.80
    Greene: 4.89
    Turner: 4.93

Well then Mr. Smartest guy on this board how does it work then? Because Green passed a physical, told everyone he was 100% and then was obviously not fine which resulted in a big free agency blunder. Not all players are up front and honest as they're trying to get paid like everyone else.

Unfortunately I think a one year deal is pretty telling as to how the feel about him.

If I remember correctly Green's problem wasn't his ankle it was that before his time in Pittsburgh he had a couple of concussions and some of the division rivals were targeting his head on tackles. It was the concussions that led to his dowfall.

It was concussions yeah but from what I recall he never even suited up for a regular season game so he was never right from training camp forward.

Green played in 6 games in 2016. He caught 18 passes for 304 yards and a TD. He never played again after that.

Well Concussions are a whole different bag of testing then a knee, ankle, groin, and so on. Also during Greens time we were just kind of getting in2 the conversations on Concussions ( Should they play, shouldn't they play, and will we get sued) so I think that had a lot 2 do with it. IMO
Of course you know this. That's why I feel they will be able 2 tell if he's at least close 2 a100% because we are not dealing with Concussions.

I must have been in an alternate reality because I swear he never played and how it was viewed as a big bust signing for that reason.

When he did play he showed flashes of being that receiving TE that was a threat anywhere on the field. But like I said teams knew he had concussion issues and weren't gentle on him. I remember in the game day thread saying whatever team the Steelers were playing that weekend that they were going after his head. He caught a seam pass and was bent over st the waste trying to get down with one defender trying to reach in and strip the ball while another tried to blow him up by the shoulder and head. Pretty sure he was knocked out of the game at that point.

You're still correct that he was a bust. 6 games and 18 catches certainly wasn't what the Steelers had in mind when they signed him.

Even in that case, it wasn't just the player saying he was fine. He did pass a physical. Also, Green was fine right up to the point that he suffered another concussion which was one too many. He was actually making a hell of an impact until that big hit against the Bengals.

This was 2016 though where targeting the head was very illegal and in the shadow of Bountygate. So I find it hard to believe that coaches and players were saying hey he's had past concussions, go for his head! Of course if it was Vontez Burfict...

I don't think the coaches were telling them to take a player out nor do I think they were premeditating hitting Green in the head in order to take him out but I do think if you have a shot to lay a hit on a guy that borders being illegal they take it. Sort like knowing Tuitt had a shoulder injury that maybe made him weaker on one side then as a offensive lineman I'm driving at that side of his body to gain an advantage.

Like I said the games he did play and caught passes it looked like the defense would hit him high rather than going low to tackle him.
