Dotson was traded to Rams

With a 2024 fifth-round pick and 2025 sixth-round pick. In return, the Steelers are receiving the Rams' 2024 fourth-round pick and 2025 fifth-round pick.

 

Herbig hasn't been healthy. I hope this means he is going to be ready to go Week 1.

 

Oh God, does this mean we keep Kendrick Green to come off the Bench at Guard and Center? The Dotson trade would have made a lot more since if Nate Herbig would have played in the last preseason game.

I have to admit; that it will completely blow my mind if Kendrick Green is still on the roster after Tuesday.

Basically they were saying he was worth a 5th round pick.

 

I hate to see any starter go. But Herbig I like better. And McCollum gives us another center we can put on the roster.

Also seumalo took dotson spot the day we signed him in free agency. So it's not like dotson would have continued to be a starter.

Fyi, seumalo didn't have any pressure according pff in pre season. And he's the reason why harris finally was able to go up the middle.

 

Good luck to Kevin Dotson on the Rams. The trade makes sense given that they have a couple of good guard prospects on the roster bubble and Dotson would be gone for nothing next year anyway. May as well get something for him while you can.

 

i hope that experiment doesn't go forward. putting him on the field as a FB takes someone else off the field which limits options.

That is a headscratcher for sure. Mitch is a much better QB than Mason. Landry Jones has to be heated about this development. Everyone HATED Landry Jones, and now that we have his clone in Mason... that guy is a strange fan favorite for some reason. I'd feel slighted if I were him haha

Its a moot point though. The front office knows who Mason Rudolph is. When Rudolph's number finally came to be the starter, we re-signed Haskins, signed Trubisky, and drafted Pickett in the first round. We want Rudolph nowhere near the football field as a QB. Regardless of what we do at the position Mitch Trubisky will be a back up in the league for the next 5-7 years and Mason will be out of the NFL at season's end.

 

When the Steelers go with the Power-I formation and want to run the ball down someone's face who do you have playing FB in front of Najee?

We have now completely rebuilt the inside O-Line, it is time to closeout games by running the ball up the middle with your power-back.

 

I think they will clear 1.8 million with the Dotson trade according to the guy at Steelersdepot.

2.7 million doesn't account for Rule of 51 roster displacement, that's why it's closer to 1.8 million.
