Give him time. I promise I seen Him open last year, and just wasn't delivered the ball. I'm not saying he will be good, but He really hasn't had a chance to prove it either way.

At the beginning of last year he has a couple of nice catch/gains even with the other so called QB;s we had, I think in his case it's more strategic opportunity than trying to rely on him as a solid nr 2, but at this point he is all we have.

Lawrence was considered the greatest can't miss QB to come out of college since Andrew Luck and he has failed miserably.

Hard pass on Christian Kirk. Kirk is probably one of the most overrated players in football, especially with that salary. He would definitely be an upgrade over what we have, but not nearly enough to justify the price.

I would be all in on DHop. Hopkins still has some gas left in the tank. Even at his age he is still a dominant player when hes healthy.

Hopkins would be a bit cheaper than Kirk as well for the balance of 2024, but he would just be a rental for the rest of this season. I’m fine with that personally.

I'm fine with that too. All the Steelers need is a stop gap. They need a guy to come in an upgrade the unit this year. The Steelers have all offseason to focus on a long term solution.

There was some talk on radio about him, a guy talked about an NFL executive saying a scouting report stating something like 'he was not all in' when it came to football. Some guys have less talent, but mentally and emotionally they put in that extra effort in all phases to get the best from themselves. Lawrence has the gifted talent, does he put the work in to get to the next level? IDK if that alone is true, but they gave a guy with stats comparable to Fields a huge contract that ties him to the organization for years.

The thinking is pretty solid in your post. This year is just that, can we grind it out and make the PO's, even win the division? Sure, even go further? Possible, getting that 'stop gap' would certainly make it more feasible, but I do not honestly think this team is at the sell out your future for this year point. Have to manage both in the proper perspective. Have no idea after 3 games if Fields is the guy they want to invest in for the future, hell we are still 28th in the league in total O. The framework is there and shows possibility to get better, but you still have to be honest that this is a far from finished product.

That is the nice thing about Hop. You don't have to sell out your future with him. I don't think the Steelers would have to give up an arm and a leg in trade compensation to bring him in. Think of Hopkins as like Patrick Peterson. He is a one year rental to get you through until you can procure a younger/better option.

A less attractive, but no trade comp option is sitting on the Lions PS. He did not show much last year (in receiving, but blocking seemed good) and definitely was not worth the contract that would have to be paid out, but barring finding the option others have talked about grab Robinson and put him back on the roster. Trading him out for one of the other receivers gives something they do not have right now.

I don’t think we could him. We would be bidding against NYJ, Balt, Buf and KC. I think we would be fifth on his list.

Roman Wilson is coming back and Austin III should continue to get more looks.

Adams contract situation is monstrous. They will have to pay a QB next season, they just gave Heyward an extension and what if they might decide to offer Harris a contract after the season. Plus they could extend Watt next season as well as Fitzpatrick. Oh and what about Pickens?

I know Khan is a master of the cap and it will increase next season but there is only so much coin to throw around and manipulate.

Everyone acts like those guys would want to come here. We will be competing with the likes of NYJ, KC, BALT and BUFF for any WR trade. I am not so sure we would be the last preference on that list from a trade destination perspective.
