Benton has one move. Players know how to play him now. Plus he lost weight which I think has actually hurt him at the NT position. We need a big 6’3” 335 lb run stuffer who has a little wiggle and can move. This upcoming draft is very strong on DT’s. We need to get one in the first round.

My preference is they are gonna trade for a wr is Courtland Sutton then Darius Slayton. Anyone else at this point isn’t worth it in my mind. Obviously some one like DK would be great but I don’t think that is realistic.

I gave up on nabbing D.K. since the beginning of Training Camp honestly. Even if the season were to sour on the Seahawks, no way would they trade him.

maybe DEN deals him, but they are making a playoff push. Slayton may be our best option as the NYG may blow that whole thing up in the off-season and we could Khan them.....

Slayton is who that guy from ESPN Dan Orlovsky said they should trade for, works for me.

I hope the Steelers either make a trade for another WR, get someone productive back from IR, or we are finally able to open the playbook completely and get the offense rolling. TDs over FGs!

I think turning FGs into TDs is where Justin Fields packages start showing up .

I think they should definitely use Fields in the red zone at times, and I would expect to see that at some point. Tomlin has already alluded to the possibility of it.

Steelers could run RPO or play action with both Fields and Wilson on the field together. They could even run a reverse RPO or would that OPR?

well......2 TDs were missed early last week, due to freak things. the facemask hold on Jones and Pickens not getting his foot in.

the week before, similar - Van Jeff tripping over a defender at the goal line, etc.

they are close to hanging 40 on the scoreboard.

Agreed. Although some tried desperately using him as a indication that teams make the Qb great. Guess what....no matter what team he's been on....he's still average at best.

His 22 season was good, 23 somewhat respectable. I think in some cases the guy can mature, the new team/system can make a difference, but there never really was a high ceiling for him.

Agreed. I've said many many many times.....a player , if He can stay in the NFL, will get better, but how much better is the problem, and how long can You actually wait on a guy when new players are coming out of college, year after year....., and like He has shown....it sometimes isn't worth it to wait. He's a great backup, and an average starter.

You can win with Geno Smith but he can't carry the team against great team like the 49ers in the NFC west....Still not a bad QB but you want better that him at some point

Well, that's the thing... Not EVERYONE gets better. Some guys just don't and others refuse to (Johnny Manziel types).

Geno's career turned out to be a good story. He got a shot after impressing his way back onto the field in Seattle and made the most of it. The past couple years he's been an NFL average quality starter. Certainly one that could/would get you to the post-season with a really good roster around him, but also could look pretty bad with a bad team around him. I wouldn't say "great" back up, because he would never have been a back up. Someone would start him. There aren't 32 QB's better than him, and even some of the teams that are drafting young QB's would want a spot starter in case their guy isn't ready day 1.

You wouldn't have waited to year 7 for him to develop into that starting quality guy, but as a player if you hang around long enough, you might get that extra "last" shot and make it count. Teams hit on stuff like this all the time. TB did with Baker, Vikings look like they might with Darnold. The Lions did with Goff (though Goff was never a back up like Darnold or Mayfield). Obviously, it doesn't work out in a lot of instances too, but that's the NFL... its hard to succeed, and even harder to stay successful.

He's good enough to win you 8-9 games, but I wouldn't want him as my QB in the big games.
