huge trade. What a stud of a player.... A very good get for a team that thinks it has a chance to compete in the short term. He's under contract for a while too.... Man, the Jets suck. Like really suck. What a dumpster fire organization.

I’ll add that our 4th and 6th would be unlikely to win the day over the Jags’ 4th and 6th. We’d need to give up more because most reasonable NFL GMs would expect the Jags to be picking higher.

Respectfully disagree completely! Jets won this trade IMO. I think it was a smart move...now will they blow it with their picks, TBD.

Idk why'd they trade a guy they spent a first round pick on last season... especially when he played so well last year. I get that he is in a bit of a slump... but 9 games seems awful fast to give up on a guy. I wonder what the trade value for him would be.... I wouldn't want to trade a first rounder for him. I'd part with a second, but we'd have to be really sure (and why would Jax give him up for a second?).

Also they just placed Hunter on IR... seems weird for them to trade their best WR after the guy they just traded up for is out for an extended period of time. Not saying they wont... it just doesn't seem likely

Didn't the Jags just trade for Meyers? Why would they trade their No. 1 when their No. 2, who they gave up assets for, is only under contract for the rest of this season?

Gardner is an excellent player. I get that two first round picks is a huge haul... but what are the chances that either one of those picks turns into a player as good as Sauce? Maybe they're just conceeding that they will be awful for a while and they need TONS of help, so they prioritize hopefully getting multiple good players over having one great one? Idk.

I think the Jets are happy with the return... its just a tough place to be when they went from going 7-10 in 2022 and 2023 and being a QB away from being a playoff team (maybe) to being the worst team in the league and selling off their good players because they are starting another massive multi-year rebuild. Tough. I can't fathom what it would be like to be a Jets fan...

I hear what you are saying, but from what I have read / heard, he isn't exactly living up to his hype recently. Maybe a move to a better team will help him snap out of his funk. Still a haul for him...and a WR too!

Meyers is most likely a replacement for Hunter, not Thomas, but there has been talk of Thomas not being a fit in the current system.

Jags repeated their statement that they 'are not trading Brian Thomas.'

They need a franchise QB and setting themselves up well to get one.

maybe they traded for Meyers knowing they were dealing the other guy?

Some of these teams are giving up multiple picks for a half a season rental players.

I think that if Miami pulls off a Waddel trade, they will have some nice picks.

I think a few deals will run to 3:59pm.

Who says they are rentals? Maybe they intend to keep them.

Also and not saying any of these teams are contenders or not but if they feel they are, then a 4th and 6th is peanuts to go for the gold.

Sauce's play has been trending in the wrong direction the last couple of years. For a team with as many holes to fill as the Jets, getting two first round picks and a young, talented wide receiver in return seems like the smart move to make.

I think the Seahawks are most definitely contenders in the NFC. The Colts may be serious contenders, too.

Fair enough, but for the Steelers I wouldn't do those deals.

That's not a bad player. He's more reliable than Calvin. And can handle having be a #1 (olave is insane with concussions) .

Agreed. And he can play #1 (olave had a ton of concussions). So it's not a bad trade at all.

Quinnen Williams to the Cowboys. Another 1st round pick and more to the Jets.

Idk about trending down.... He's a consensus top 5 CB in the league. I will say two firsts and Mitchell is a big return, but Gardner is excellent. They clearly are headed towards another multi year full rebuild. Prayers out to Jets fans....

I like that trade for both teams. The Colts are good enough to take a shot like this. The Jets need to strip it all down and rebuild...again.
