Top 32 draft busts

Interesting read. Of the top 32 biggest draft busts in NFL history, the Cleveland Browns had 7 of their first round picks make the list. Their draft busts make Devin Bush, Jarvis Jones, Jamain Stephens and Huey Richardson look like first ballot HOFers.

Brady Quinn is on the list but his pic is not?! Intriguing indeed. Regardless though, pretty much lines up with some of my thoughts overall. That said though, I am surprised neither Jamain Stephens nor Huey didn't make the list.


I do understand that there are a lot of factors that go into making lists like these; the placement at which the player was drafted, the position they played and more notably, who that team could have selected instead a la Warren Sapp. Even so, I suppose neither Jamain nor Huey were nearly as ghastly enough to make the cut.


As for Jarvis and Devin Bush?! The former was a major letdown while the latter had one great season followed by a regression following a nasty injury. Both are disappointments but I would not put neither in the same realm as many of the guys on the list; doubly so regarding the Cleveland Browns' players.

 

I noticed that they had Baker Mayfield’s picture for Brady Quinn.

Amazed Trey Lance did not make the top 32 draft busts of all time now that he is no longer a member of the 49ers. Overall #3 pick that cost San Francisco No. 12 pick in 2021, first-round selections in 2022 and 2023 and a third-round pick in 2022.


Also, I don't believe that Ryan Leaf was the biggest draft bust in history as I do NOT buy their argument that everyone thought he was just as good as Peyton Manning when he came out. I think that was all Media Hype, and most NFL Scouts had Leaf a distant #2 QB that year.

My vote goes for 1st Overall pick JaMarcus Russell as the biggest draft bust in NFL History.
