Minkah and Watt are two pretty awesome players. Gotta think Hayward is on the way down but I feel like Highsmith could be on the verge.

You should have seen my posts before 2010 as a young bright eyed lad. I’m beaten down. Wife Kids Work and now my Steelers can’t win a playoff game.

Speaking of safeties....Rod Woodson was great for the Ravens. I know....*Puke*

But his "A Football Life". episode on NFL network was excellent. Very Steelers oriented. Enjoyed it.

 

Regarding Minkah?!... No surprise for me. I couldn't remember a time as a Steelers fan where I was as excited for a trade that happened. Now, to Miami's credit, Jevon Holland is by no means a bad player; a pretty damn good one in fact. Given how he has only been in the league for two seasons, what he has accomplished is pretty damn impressive.. rolling off of trading their former Safety. This all said, while Jevon Holland is pretty damn good, Minkah is incredible without question.


There really is not much that I can think of that Minkah cannot do on the field. Granted, I still enjoy how intense Derwin James plays more than any other safety but Minkah's consistency and performance are simply second to no one; doubly so his instincts. Where ever the Football is in the air?!... Minkah somehow, someway, finds a way or even creates a way to either be there or get there.


However, the reason why Minkah is the best currently is his ability to change the outcome of games. It is not quite like Troy's in terms of flair but like Troy, count on Mink to make the timely play when it counts.

So I finally decided this morning after ignoring the terms strong safety and safety I looked up the difference. Surprisingly to me at least is the difference in responsibilities and player types. I guess I should have known that strong safety covers the strong side of the field usually determined by the presence of the tight end or if there are two tight ends whether the QB is right or left handed. Strong safety has more responsibility for the run and also blitzes more. Now I get it. Hey i'm old so it took me this long to figure it out! Now I can die happy
