From head coach to line coach in 2 years. Talk about a fall from grace.

I really don't know much about Sparano, no clue if he'd be good for us or not.

I'm sure Sparano is hoping to settle for better than a job as an OL coach.

Why? Has he been that successful as HC/OC?

I don't know much about him, but assuming OL is his background, that sounds okay to me. Terrible head coaches often make excellent coordinators. That's how they got to be head coaches (it sure as hell wasn't for actually being a good coach, right?). I think it's the same with terrible coordinators and position coaches.

Hmm, according to wikipedia, he was the OL coach for the Browns in the year 2000. They averaged 10 points per game and were shut out 4 times. They scored 3 points twice. I'm sure all that is probably only like 1% his fault when you consider the lack of talent on the whole offense, but it doesn't bode well. He was also the OL coach for Dallas for a period in the mid 2000s. Not sure how their OL fared in those days, but I don't think the Cowboys were much good.

He's been around, but I'm having difficulty seeing where he had success. Maybe he's worth an interview, but I don't think his resume puts him ahead of any other candidates.

Sparano is scheduled to interview with the Chiefs for their offensive line coaching opening. Good call, Cajun.

that must mean juan castillo hasen't accepted with KC and reid. sparano and castillo would be good ones. both moved up to OC's and did terrible. they have coached some good o-lines for alot of years. that's what they are good at. alot of teams have two o-line coaches. a few of them are also head coaches too. two heads are better then one they say. i'd be snappin up some time with these guys soon if i were the steelers. i'd prefer castillo.

Maybe Tomlin wants to wait to see who Arizona hires. If they hire Haley, he may wait to hire an o-line coach after a new OC
