A head coach’s coaching tree shouldn’t be judged by the amount of success his coaches have once they get an opportunity to become a head coach but rather that they got the opportunity to become a head coach to begin with. It shows that the rest of the league highly esteemed the assistant coaches who worked under Belichick and wanted to try to tap into the success that the Patriots have as an organization with BB at the helm. It shows that there’s a lot of respect in NFL circles for the Patriots coaching philosophy. You are correct that those who have been chosen have produced a somewhat mixed bag of results, but they got the opportunity because of the success of BB and the respect the rest of the league has for his way of doing things. Tomlin’s assistants, on the other hand, have generally received zero interest from around the league and I think that’s telling.

I still think You're missing My point..... I don't care what dumb decision makers are doing. Only the good decision makers matter. IMO
Also.....Like I have told My students back when I taught Guitar when they would say something like.....why doesn't everyone (folks,girlfriend, or whomever) like My Guitar playing. I would say .....How do You expect most the people that don't even like the music You listen to, or really like at all what You like.... to now like then what You do????
If You Love Metal , and You play metal....You can't expect people that hate metal to love what You play. Same for country, r&b, blues, classical, and so on.
Those are not the people that You should worry about judging You.
Long story short....LoL.
So people that clearly make mistakes on choosing HC.....well what they think...it means very little to Me. That's all.
