Tomlin doesn't need to change. He is a great leader who runs the room well and ensures a good defense. He just needs a quality mind on that offensive side of the ball holding things down. There's roster issues too of course, but when your gameplanning is bad it makes it hard to properly evaluate players.

Tomlin has been Marvin Lewis ever since the Jags beat us in 2017

The offense doesn’t need to change 100%, but it does need to be tweaked and there needs to be an emphasis on execution and fine details.

I hope Tomlin doesn’t have the hubris to think that they will be fine as is. The way Tomlin and the new OC sounded praising Canada out the door has me concerned. It is as if they thought they were okay, and change wasn’t really needed besides giving the fanbase Canada’s head.

But what are they supposed to say in that situation? Canada was a guy they worked with and spent endless hour around. There is no reason to kick the man when he is going out the door. It just doesn't make sense to do that. Nobody knows for certain how they feel about his performance as OC, but that is how you handle it.

That was the professional thing to do. Now we all need to hope that they are aware that some things can be done better and they start working on those things to get a better offense on the field.

Man, I never heard so many nice things said about an NFL coach who got fired. Eddie Faulkner had an entire interview where all he talked about was how great Canada was. He wasn’t even asked by a reporter about him, it was all voluntary.

And that is my point, it sounds like they didn’t want to fire him, and therefore thought everything was just hunky dory the way the offense was.

Most teams just move on and don’t talk about the past, because they are looking to make changes, and improve.
