No doubt the supporting cast helps.

But two things between BA and Haley:

With BA, Ben used to brag about "playing sandlot ball" (or something to that affect). which is slang for I don't know what the rest of the play is, I'm not going to learn, I just run around and look down the field and BA let's me get away with it. Haley has forced him to learn the plays. Ben knows where the second receiver is and finds him without getting sacked as much. Ben is better for it. The team is better for it.

With BA, Ben was lousy at the dump pass to the running back. With Haley, he has learned to look and know where his running back is. The team is better for it.

Palmer was always a more disciplined QB than Ben. Just not as good of an athelete. Palmer didn't need coach to teach him.

 

I think it's easy to make one's case either way regarding BA and Haley.

You can point to the better numbers under Haley but you can certainly point to the better supporting cast.
You easily make the case BA is a better coach based on the success he's had in Indy and Arizona versus the failure TH had in KC.
You can say Ben played undisciplined sandlot ball or you can say he extended plays.

Nobody will ever win this argument. It's all a matter of perspective.

But I'm right and you're wrong.
