No..I was just making a point of the same thing happening then showing that Colbert has been beaten to the punch before.

Thompson, also. A good team will scout and make their own grades up. I fully believe they had higher grades on Burns and Davis then most teams. Davis, they obviously did, as they left higher graded players on the board. I bet they had a higher grade on Burns then they did on Jackson, too.

Ultimately we're just gonna have to get some "hot tape" on them as Tomlin calls it. I desperately want to be proven totally wrong about this draft. I WILL say though that a few years ago I wanted Dennard really bad and they took him and he hasn't hardly done anything. I hope this turns out to be the case again. I liked Fuller just based on his genes but I'm sure family tradition isn't enough to base a draft pick on. I sure would have killed to get his brother though. He has actually produced on the next level.

Both corners will play in the same division, will play the same schedule, so it wont be that hard to compare who is the better corner over their careers, so it's a waste of time debating this issue now since neither one has played a game yet.....

We're a bunch of armchair GM"s, blount, I certainly hope none of us truly think we are better at this then the Steelers. We fans hit on some, probably miss on way more.

Even the pros miss more than they hit. When you really think about it there's probably less than a hundred players you can name that DON'T play for the Steelers out of almost two thousand in the league. I know we would love to have a roster of household names but that's a total pipe dream for ANY franchise.

It's always possible, but if you saw the shot from the Steelers' war room just after they made the pick it certainly seemed to me they were extatic

That's what I thought too. You could tell they seemed genuinely happy and it just took them a New York minute to decide.

Any video links to this? Or just going from memory while watching draft night? I fell asleep in the couch.

I had it recorded on my dvr, but might have deleted it. At one point I actually went back and paused the recording to see if I could read their big board

I like that! Leaving no stone unturned in trying to see who they liked and in what order. :)

Still better at it then you and I. After spending time on who they did take, I'm on board now. Problem is, I didn't know much about these guys a couple weeks ago, so it was hard to get excited then. I was disappointed draft weekend, because I spent hours looking at guys and eventually settled on a handful that I liked, none went to the Steelers :lolol:

There is usually at least 1 guy I like that they take, Bell, Tuitt, Dupree were some of the players I keyed on in the past.

Oh they're definitely better at it than us. Something else I think is funny is when a guy turns out to be really good that was a late round draft pick and they try to act like "they knew it all along" that he was that good but it's like "Yeah...so you let a guy stay there for 6 rounds that you knew would become a franchise qb or great wr or backer???" LOL! It really sorta works both ways. If you take a guy early that's a bust you're an idiot but if you take a guy late that's great then you're a genius. Although it seems to me if you were TRULY a genius you would have taken that next big Hall of Fame superstar early. LOL! Just sayin'.

Kudos to Colbert and Tomlin for seemingly nailing a good draft. I like what we did for where we were positioned in the draft.

every year the steelers routinely use less time than any other team to turn in their pick
