A lot had him as a top 10 big board talent had he not been hurt .The question was could he fully recover ?I think he has answered that. I don’t like the plays off or his route running either ,but some Team will see his acrobatic catches and his ability to win 50/50 balls which a former great WR stated where more like 80/20 and 90/10 balls.. IMO a injury will hurt him more than his attitude and poor route running..

Weidl learned how to deal when he was working in Philly.

I heard Mark Schlereth on the radio talking about Kyle Shanahan and how he doesn't just call individual plays, he calls up a scheme for the entire offensive drive. He might ask his receivers to sell out on a run play he knows will maybe only gain 2 yards, because it will pay off later on with a bigger play.
Right now, no one's buying into the scheme and that's a big problem. Each play needs to be a set up for the next play. DJ and Pickens aren't buying into the bigger picture, probably because they're not seeing one. Personally, I don't know if you can coach that hard work into a guy. Pickens taking plays off is a habit that's not likely to be broken and there's no excuse for it.

Exactly. Each play has a purpose. Setting up something later. I'm sure Shanahan isn't the only offensive play caller using that philosophy but he was a good example.
It rarely feels like the Steelers play calling has any rhythm. That's not all on the play calling either though, because execution by the players has been subpar to say the least.

Not at the current time and the product on the field reflects that.

Oh I'm certainly catching that theme on this message board and I'm pretty sure that feeling is not geographically specific.

I’d be pissed too if I were a Steelers receiver. However, the complaining should be done behind closed doors. These guys act like this because Tomlin lets them.

The injury wasn't the only thing holding down his value. There were reports of his immaturity, too, and he has proven that really is an issue.
