PIT decided to punt to CIN from the PIT 45 on 4th & 4 with 5:25 remaining in the 4th while losing 24 to 30. With a Surrender Index of 16.27, this punt ranks at the 98th percentile of cowardly punts of the 2025 season, and the 95th percentile of all punts since 1999.

We were not stopping the Bengals last night.

The thing is, we got our only stop of the last 3 quarters right after that punt.

So you'd rather give them the ball at the Pit 48 yard line? Brilliant, 'cause that's just as likely to have happened!

Except they did. I have a bigger problem with Rodgers throwing into double coverage on third down and making a poor throw. I didn't love them punting there, but it worked.

Warren made the big error on the pitchback and AR failing to go back to him on 3rd down cost them the first down via the first interception. That is when the game began to unravel when they should have put the Bengals away. Sure they only had 4 days rest, but they are supposed to be professionals.

Tomlin is the king of "cowardly punts", but at least we got the ball back afterwards. Mostly due to a Cincy penalty, but we still did.
