I’m fairly convinced they won 19?

And yet we have to scratch our collective head at the perennial doom and gloom around here.

The problem is more about people trying to make judgements on what a coach 'does' from his screen time. It's doubled when you hear: "MT does nothing but stand around", and then in the same breath "MT is jumping up and down too much, he should be a coach not a cheerleader" etc. etc.

Tomlin has a particular approach to game management which has come under fire, and doesn't always end well by it's very nature. He takes risks that other coaches wouldn't. Putting in Sutton for Sensabaugh was not the obvious thing to do, because no matter how badly Sensabaugh was getting beat, Sutton is an untested rookie. It turned out to be entirely the right decision. Putting in a DB in the place of an LB was not the obvious thing to do, but it worked.

Oh, jeh. You should know by now that we only won half of those. The rest, it was the other team losing.

Having homefield is great.. Its what every team strives for. Unfortunatly it doesn't always carry into the post season.

I agree. I have never really bashed him. I have said before players play and coaches coach. U are right. Those kind of decisions coaches make and more times than not i agree with him. I love going for it on 4th. I love the 2 pt tries. I think he just gets more blame on the execution part of the game than he should

Is that where the rotation of players helps.... its noticeable when an injury comes up like this.. 44 and 54 never play.. give them a break.

I jumped on at halftime and was reading the posts by many about how bad Tomlin is and how bad Matakevich was. I am glad I don't follow along as these were both laughable. Someone even posted in another thread he stopped watching at half, real fan there how did that work out for him??? Anyways if anyone remembers from the draft thread I am a big Matakevich fan. With that said was he good, not really but let's face it he was filling in for Shazier....most people will look bad compared to him. Also TM was around the ball playing 7 yards off, where was his help in front of him? When Gay went in I didn't see him making great plays like Shazier, no knock on Gay here.

As for the Tomlin thing I have been a guy who has been vocal of him but to want him gone now is just plain dumb.....dumb! How many teams fire their coach and make the SB.....none! Ok rant over.....lol
