I have to come here and give the guy his due. I am a Tomlin hater but last night after the start they had he righted the ship. I actually saw him more involved last night than I can remember in the past. He seems to have the pulse of his team and guys are getting it done for him so kudos OBVIOUSLY. Lol

Correct me but did I see him helping the defense. Cause they showed Butler and he look a little lose without his MLB and Tomlin put Gay in at LB. I know he play LB on the dime package. I hope we working on the man to man cause the other QB will eat up zone blitz

I think gay was working as a pseudo ILB making the calls.

Gruden and company were too busy slobbering over Burfict and the Bengals defense instead of talking about how they were dealing with losing both signal callers on defense...

yup I credit Tomlin big time. Dude is righting the ship with what he has. Mitchell and shazier are the playcallers on D, we look lost for a reason.

Matakevich looked completely lost out there. Not only was he struggling to get the defense aligned properly but he was often out of position and indecisive in his approach to the ball carrier. I hate to say it but his injury was probably one of the keys to the Steelers' victory. Also, is that guy the same height as Tarik Cohen of the Bears? Dude looks like a slot receiver, not a linebacker.

    Laughable.

He didn’t look lost and he was always at least around the tackle.

People were screaming for Fort and they had to use Gay to make calls because Fort couldn’t do it!

Also, he’s the same height as Vince so there’s that.

Yeah, I didn't think Matakevich looked lost. He just looked out of place. What I mean is, he didn't look like a guy that starts for the Steeler's defense every week. I know the "next man up", "he is a pro", "shouldn't be any drop off" cliches, but he isn't the starter for a reason. He is a backup and looked like one last night. I like the guy and hope he keeps filling his role, whatever it may be!

Being down at the half and loosing Shazier could have dragged this team way down. Tomlin pulled the team together at half time. Those players fight for him. That's not true on many teams. We are 10-2and it's because Tomlin holds the ship together.

Do I have my criticisms, yes. But there is no doubt he is one of the top coaches. Let the haters hate. They just want to hate.

Sean Spence is going to be back on this team ASAP. Write it down take it to the bank and stick in your mom's 401K.

Going to be like Men's Warehouse I guarantee it.

That’s pretty much it in a nutshell. The usual suspects jumped on it as yet another opportunity to bash tomlin, but you don’t hear squat from them now.

One thing I was wondering is: How many defensive players are allowed to have the communications in their helmet? I'm assuming Shaz and Matakevich had it, so what happens when they both go out? Is it something they can quickly install?

I just read an article than said the Steelers flew Ryan’s parents via private jet to get them there as quickly as possible. That along with Tomlin, Colbert and Rooney going to the hospital last night is impressive. I know that it would seem like standard practice but they didn’t have to, but they did. I honestly believe they will play well Sunday and beyond, by keeping Ryan in there thoughts. Sometimes tradegy breeds greatness. That lockeroom will be united and focused.

Funny. I could only keep track of the game day thread. Couldn't watch, listen or stream it live. Several fans here wanted him fired by half time. And to think. We're 10-2 leading the AFC North by several games. I've been a big critic on MT in the past but he is performing beyond my expectations so far this season.

Gay was getting the calls directly from the sideline...late in the game you could see him talking to them and then running back to make the calls.

Surprising thing is they started playing better and had the Bengals confused several times when they had to do it this way....interesting that there was no radio calls to tap into at that point.

He said something about Gay being a LB that's what I got from his mumbled talking. I think he may have been drunk.
