I can understand starting Duck. What I don't understand is why Tomlin would announce it so soon. Even though the Browns might have assumed Duck was starting they'd have to put in some practice time preparing for Rudolph had Tomlin not tipped them off.

Completely agree with you here. He didn't even seem mad after he was pulled. You would think there would be some emotion. The only real emotion I have seen him show is going after Garrett after he ripped his helmet off. I do understand that you have to be calm if you want to be an NFL QB, but most of the good ones show a little flare out there. After all it is an competitive game.

we'll be screaming for Lynch by the end of the 2nd quarter. By the way Hobbs was horrible.

Talk about throwing a guy under the bus before he even gets a chance! Why do you say this?

Duck is not the answer. There's a reason he was an undrafted free agent right? I will gladly eat crow if he plays well. But realistically there is almost zero chance of that happening. Rudolph is horrible and Lynch is horrible. We do not have a starting QB on the roster. It will be fun seeing him in there chucking the ball all over but as far as being effective I see very little chance of that happening. We'll be looking to our defense once again to come up with a few points to win this one

Let's just give him a chance. There was virtually no chance that Brady would be any good either......of course he has coaches and Duck doesn't. :smiley1:

First time we've had a Duck at QB since Dennis Dixon. Of course Hodges didn't play for Oregon, but he's still a Duck.

He's getting his chance. Just remember he'll be out there with our offensive line and villy at left tackle. So there's that for him to look forward to.

Far more important than being out there with the O line is being out there with a speaker in his helmet!

Normally, I hate the Brady example because it was such an outlier, but you can't assume an undrafted free agent will suck. Hell, Tony Romo was an undrafted free agent. I don't really care how Hodges got to the team. I don't even think he will be an answer as anything other than a backup long term, but he is the team's best option for Sunday.

Tony Romo won the Walter Payton award in 2002 for the outstanding player in FCS. Duck won the Walter Payton award last year and is the all time leading passer in FCS history breaking Steve McNair's record.

All MT is doing is setting another rookie QB up to fail. We'll see soon enough on Sunday. My crystal ball is telling me everyone will want Lynch starting the next game. Then he'll fail too as this offense cannot succeed depending on our QBs to carry the offense.
