I believe we are better than that.. better than average. At the end of the game, in the locker room interviews, one of the defensive players (and sorry I don't remember who it was) said they came out after half time and laid back, they got comfortable and thought the offense would sail the rest of the game and it took them some time to rebuild their composure.
So if one of our own D players is flat out saying they got lazy... does that mean the stains almost beat us--- or did we almost give the win to them?

Tomlin was on the FOX pregame show, and he said he hates that term players coach he gets labeled with. He said he thinks it's because of his age and after hearing about it for eight years he' tired of it. He said the players know he means business and there's no blurred lines.

When you lose to bad teams here and there, it's par for the course. It happens.

Since Tomlin took over, it's happened repeatedly.

There's not much else to say.

Another 125 yards in penalties tells a much different story.

I heard an announcer say that the 49ers were the most penalized.

Heading into this week we were only 6th worst in the NFL in penalty yards. Now I think we're 2nd worst ... 1 yard behind Washington.

They have the most penalties, and they are close in yardage, but Washington is #1 in penalty yards.

I fully expect December 30, 2014 to be Tomlin's last day on job as the Pittsburgh Steelers head coach.

If it doesn't happen this organization deserves all it will get wallowing in .500 football. All we can do is sit back and see what self-important Art Rooney II decides to do.

Do NOT buy a lottery ticket. I repeat. Do NOT! If that happens I will be in absolute shock. I mean TTF will have to literally resuscitate me.

You're safe, even if they miss the playoffs again, he'll get one more year. Then I believe he would be on the hot seat.

I honestly don't know. I mean Shazier is obviously set back now. JJ will be set back as well. Spence is just now getting to see the field. We are probably gonna need a new corner. I'm just wondering if the Rooney's will say that Tomlin is dealing with a little too much youth and might have mercy.

First, I don't agree that Tomlin is a bad coach or should be fired. But for the people who do, why are you not more concerned about positional coaches, like John Mitchell of the defensive line, being fired instead since a unit like that is really costing the team? Blame doesn't have to go from player right to the head coach. Find out why the players aren't performing first.

Also, while Tomlin has final say, it isn't his real job to teach players technique. Thats what positional coaches are for. Some head coaches bring more experience and teach like that, but many others don't. So I find it hard to blame Tomlin for ****ty defensive line play over the past three years. If I wanted to blame a coach, I would choose Mitchell.

That all said, the main problem with this team is players and player execution, and specifically the defensive line.

Because Tomlin is responsible for his coaching staff. And if he isn't, then that is a problem in and of itself.

Who is responsible for the positional coaches doing their job? While Tomlin may not be responsible for teaching technique, he is responsible for ensuring it gets taught properly. He's also responsible for what they do in practice. That's on him.

Not to mention that our problem isn't just limited to the DL, if it was, we would have easily beat TB. We are a bad football team in almost every way. We're constantly shooting ourselves in the foot, on both sides of the ball. Besides, we've brought in new players and new coaches and the result is the same. The common denominators are Lebeau and Tomlin. I'll gladly blame Lebeau, but we have problems that go beyond just the defence. We're an undiscipled, stupid football team and have been for years.
