No word yet if Tomlin will give AJRII an extension.

The pressure is way up locally on MT and whoever the QB will
be. People have seen enough of this show.

I had to stop reading there as I felt this wasn't an appropriate place for such discussions.

If only Tomlin could've seen the wisdom of stepping down at this point in his career, his "legacy" will only diminish the longer he stays on. He's been at the pinnacle of mediocrity for the last 13 years now, and I fully expect that trend to continue the next 3 years. Tomlin is who he is, a very mediocre HC, and I don't see anything changing unless he gets another Big Ben

    Normally, yes.
But I think AJRII sees it this way:
with Ben, AB and Bell, the steelers underachieved, yes, but have overachieved the last 4 years, averaging 10 wins a year over the last four years. With no quarterback. That means AJRII sees 11-12 wins this year with an improved roster.
But honestly he still doesn't win a playoff game without an elite QB if you ask me.

Art is not that stupid. The situation you described would be a very convoluted way to describe it. I think Tomlin's main weakness was selecting poor assistant coaches. And then maybe his loyalty to them prevented him from firing them. Art wants to win as bad as we want them to win. There is no downside to winning in the NFL. I think the addition of Khan will end a lot of the frustration around talent acquisition. If no one has noticed the Steelers are not acting at all like the steelers of old. Let's see what Tomlin can do with a new OC and a pretty new GM. When you look at the coaching carousel out there it is very scary to throw overboard a coach that at least wins games. All in all I think things are looking up. Oh and keeping a punter for so long that couldn't help the team with field position. That one was a real head scratcher

Rooney says the playoff situation has to change and yet we haven’t won a game in 7 years and 3 in 13 so obviously extending the HC makes sense. This Rooney is a disgrace to the family nothing but hot air and BS.

Cowher didn't retire on top, if he retired after the 2005 Super Bowl then yes. Not after an 8-8 season in 2006.

They signed a Super Bowl winning QB in free agency, if they had no interest in winning a championship they would've stuck with Pickett.

Him and MT can draw up plays in hieroglyphics around the same time both had any success.

The Lions OC had a chance to become a HC this last offseason and turned it down.

Peytons arm was like a wet noodle I think that D was incredible though and Peyton could still manage a game.

No comparison to Cowher, you didnt notice they were Cowhers players when your beloved coach won a Superbowl? And said same players he underachieved to the max. Time for a change. Im not down with the participation trophy crowd.

Duh, the Steelers defense can be good too. You act like Wilson can't manage a game he had 26 TDs on a crappy team last year.

Tomlin's winning percentage is higher than Cowher's deal with it .
