Take a look at my signature. I have believed this for a while. This is the only way there will be a change. Art II will go out with Tomlin so he doesn't have his name tarnished.

14 years and 2 playoff wins. That's what its about for me. I don't gush over the winning season record.

Being a Steeler Fan I hope the team excels. Never want to see them fail. But of late they have...

    Not the same thing

Brady had won 3 SB,make 4 time the super bowl and 5 times the AFC title game in the last 6 years with the Pats....The steelers can't make the divisionnal round since the 2018 season

That was pre=flood now 120 is the limit though 3yrs with tomlin may feel like 900yrs .Will probably see The Lord return before a tomlin S.B. win . Was looking for both but God over football is the wise choice and will keep praying for our team and fans.

How many people here actually think the Steelers can win a Super Bowl in the next 4 years? That is the question that the Steelers top management should be asking themselves. Sometimes changes are needed.

Well I am a big believer in the way they are building the team. I don’t think that style of football will ever be unsuccessful. That is essentially how SG is built. If you don’t have a premier QB then strengthening the trenches and building up the run game is the best way to go.

Its not easy to find that franchise QB in this league. Tomlini has managed to at least be competitive in the midst of rebuilding this team. I get it no playoff wins, etc. But we were essentially rebuilding. Now he has three years to ride this out. Give him this year with Wilson if it doesn’t work then Fields the next two years. The Steelers are long in patience. That method provides stability it could be worse and we could churn through QB’s and Coaches like alot of basement dwelling teams do.

I repeat what blast furnace said. Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game since he had a former Head Coach as an assistant (2017, Haley). I think that's key. Tomlin was best when he had former Head Coaches winning the games for him and he just had to take the credit and keep the players from personally self-destructing.

This is true our coaching staff has been very weak for several years especially on offense...hopefully that will change with Smith as OC

The day he was hired he had top tier players at nearly every single position plus quality back ups. I don’t remember many people turning on him immediately. Most of us just didn’t know much about him and were just upset that “our” guy wasn’t selected for the HC. Tomlin won with most of those pieces already in place. Now winning regular season records seem to be the norm.

Many of them wanted an internal hire, either Grimm or Whisenhunt. Some found another reason to pre-judge Tomlin. Some just didn't like the style of defense he had run in Minnesota. Some weren't going to be happy no matter who replaced Cowher. There were many reasons.

So… now that winning seasons are accepted as achieving objectives by Steelers. what is an outstanding “season” outcome? Winning a SB, or winning one playoff game?

‘if steeelrs win 1 playoff game, does that make Tomlin a great coach as far as Rooney is concerned?

‘some fans did turn on him simply because they wanted their “own” guy. Kind of like when fans wanted to keep Pickett even after he proved he sucked.

some fans turned on tomlin after seeing his dumb decisions during games.

Two seasons with a terrible offensive coordinator and a shaky offensive line doesn't prove anything.

‘seems like not wining a playoff game in 7 years isn’t much of a proof either.
