LeBeau was there before Tomlin took over, too, but Harrison didn't make the leap from part-time player to starter, then All-Pro until after Tomlin arrived. I have no doubt that LeBeau had a big influence on Harrison, too, but some folks just refuse to give Tomlin his due. This is another example of it. If Harrison had emerged under Cowher, people wouldn't be looking to credit LeBeau. They would be focused on Cowher developing him into a star. Because he took that leap under Tomlin, people are looking to credit everyone else.

You are not being honest when You are skipping the point that He was not brought in to be a backup at that moment, and He made way more than any other Qb on the team per year at that point...Hell We didn't even have KFP when He was brought in....so You're saying they paid Him all that money to backup Mason??? LoL
I do believe He was the Starter until He $hit the bed, and still they had to pay Him....let's make this easier.....while He was here who was the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Qb in Making money per year.....now ....how did the Qb depth chart go???? See any resemblance between the two????

So it doesn't with Trubisky??? The Trubisky who was making up to 22 million on a 2 year contract....compared to Mason who was making something like a million a year. Now ask Yourself this.....who is paying that, and who would that matter the most.....the HC, or the ........???
Like I said above.....look at the Draft capital, and money per year for each Qb, and then look at the Qb depth chart.....see a resemblance??? This is not a Steelers thing.....this is a NFL thing.....not all the time , but dang well most of the time.

    what?

do you know that correlation is not the same as causation? I swear you live in History Revision Narrative world.

James was young under Cowher, trying to crack a STRONG LB crew. Porter was in his prime. Haggans was on his way out, but not a hack. JamesH had bounced around a while, on a couple of rosters. We did get to the SB that year in 2005 (AFCCG in '04), so most would say our OLB's did not suck.

2006 - same LB's.......SB hangover, wasted year, Ben's accident, etc.....

2007 - JPeezy is gone and enter JHarrison, FT Starter. It did not take Genius Mike Tomlin to see that. tomlin need NO DUE for that.

even YOU would have been able to slot him in there.

    come on man, COME ON.

MT played Mitch because he made a poor coaching decision it had nothing to do with a 2 million dollar salary. I agree your argument makes sense in some scenarios in the NFL when guys get a max deal and still start while clearly other guys are outperforming them. This is not that scenario.

You guys trying to act like Jacksonville was some sorry team that season, they smoked the Steelers that year in the regular season and almost beat New England in the AFCCG. Jacksonville also had the #1 ranked defense that season IIRC.

The Steelers went to the AFCCG in 2016 without Cowher's team and culture . The Steelers don't get to and win the Super Bowl in 2008 without this Tomlin draft pick of Woodley .

It certainly was a mistake sticking with Trubisky, I heard some in the media say he should've benched Trubisky at halftime of the Patriots game I agree.

Nah, some of us fans are smart enough to understand the game unlike you :hehehe:. Like when fans want to blame the HC for losing to the Browns in the playoffs, you lose the turnover battle 5-0 you aren't going to win.

So the HC has nothing to do with the offensive ball security? You say you know the game but claim a HC has basically 0 responsibility in preparing, teaching, in game adjusting or any other facet of an NFL game. You are not a Steelers fan you are a MT fan.

What the heck does the HC have to do with Ben throwing 4 interceptions, or Pouncey with a bad snap? I was a Steelers fan before Tomlin, and I will be one after he's gone.

I was going to reply further, and then decided there’s no point. You have your view, and I have mine (the right one). We’ll leave it at that.

Players execute a game-plan you would think the HC of a football team has some part of that process. I know MT isn’t an offensive guy (not sure what specialty he has) and Ben needed to be better in this specific game but you are choosing one example in 13 years of failure. All these different players over a decade just keep failing the genius HC. Truly unfortunate luck for him.

Tomlins first 4 years were A+ , but just been a C the last 13yrs. I will stand beside him as long as he is Steelers HC. But it really feels like we need a change at this point. Maybe they will get going this season.

I am relaying the facts. Harrison was a backup under Cowher. He became a star under Tomlin. Also, he was 28 during Cowher's final season as head coach. He would eventually be much better than Haggans, but it didn't happen until Tomlin arrived. Those are all facts.

Despite this, the focus of the steelers that week and the last month of the season was more on the patriots.....

2016 was the only time since 2011 and it was a blowout.....Yes Woodley was very important in 2008 and also in 2010,he was one of my favorite player before he become fat after that but most like the other had said, first 4 years,A+ for Tomlin since that time a C at best for Tomlin

Only thing Tomlin gets an A+ in would be fooling half the Steelers fan base that he is some great coach. Most overrated of all time.
