Losing Bell and Williams at RB killed our chances more than the refs. That and the asinine zone defense that Brady loves to carve up.

Steelers should have switched to a 4-3 after losing to Packers and Rodgers in SBXLV.... but that's a topic for another discussion.

I don't think the steelers would win against the pats with a different gameplan, but the gameplan at playing the zone against Brady was all-time bad

It's as if Tomlin hadn't yet realized in his 10th year of his job and after several dominant performances from Brady against Tomlin that the zone was never going to work against Brady...Gronk was also out for this game, so this gameplan was just criminal...The Pats only had 1 punt in this game and it was in the first quarter, they scored in every other drive in this game:facepalm:

The WRs and TEs of the steelers were very poor that year too outside of AB,so it would take a all-time miracle to win this game but the miracle were impossible from the start with the zone defense

Fields hasn’t thrown a single pass for the Steelers in preseason or regular season and you are already wanting him to be traded. You can’t even wait for his first incompletion before showing dissatisfaction. People in your life must be really impressed by your personal perfection.

Brady's number was still great against Cowher but it wasn't 22 TD, 0 interceptions like it was the case in the first 7 matchup of Brady vs Tomlin from 2007 to 2016 with passing rating of 125 or something like that

LeBeau was not with the steelers in 2001 and 2002....In 2004 and 2005,the steelers won 34-20,lost 41-27 in the AFC title game and also lost 23-20 in a very close one

Again....I will not point to anyone in particular, but do some if You people actually think You can play a certain type of D all Year long, and then just completely change it??? LoL. I will say this until I'm blue in the face. Patriots were not, and are not in our division.....You don't build a team for a team You may not even face. Example: Patriots losing to Cam Newton, DeShawn Watson, and Lamar Jackson 99% of the time. Because they weren't built to beat that style. You don't build Your team to beat someone You may not even face.

    @ wh

you also have to have the players that are capable of playing that scheme. If you’ve got a bunch of zone corners playing press man is an exercise in futility. Of c

I find articles like this funny because if you are a fan of Tomlin or a fan of the Steelers you will have at least casually watched them play and should know the reason Tomlin doesn't have a coaching tree. In order to establish a tree you have to have a coaching philosophy to pass train your coaches and pass on to them. You need to have an identity that you try to mold the team into and build on. Tomlin has viewpoints, he has rough ideas, he doesn't have an identity. Through out his career as head coach of the Steelers he has had the Rooney's bedrock principles given to him, play tough defense and run the ball effectively. In my opinion if he had been on any other team he would have had success but the lack of an identity would have doomed him before he hit the 10 year mark and would have been fired. There is a reason why Belicheck had such an expansive tree and why they almost always failed when given their shot. Bill's way only works if you are as consumed with it as he was and his assistants weren't.

No one living in reality thought he'd be fired. No one living in reality should be satisfied with his results either.

Congratulations on the extension. I really hope you prove all of your naysayers (including me) wrong. But now that you're getting a solid rebuild and the franchise is actually getting you players (something your apologists always say you don't have somehow), you have 2 years to prove it or you should be fired. 3 depending on how year 2 goes. You've skated by on reputation for far too long. Give me good results closer than a decade and a half ago.

Regular season matters not. And I'm even willing to give you a pass on this season. But if we're not a true contender in 2025? Buh bye.

    Why? See my signature. :lolol:

Although I clearly think MT will never win another damn thing at least in Pittsburgh we don’t have a QB. When these two don’t pan out this year we would have to draft a QB and likely wouldn’t contend for years to come regardless.

You love to cherry pick stats, I don't care what Brady stats were they didn't beat him often just like Tomlin didn't.

And 0 playoff wins, this doesn’t matter? Come on. And the qb situation is TBD this year.

Tomlin does win with what he has but the problem is he doesn’t win when it counts. He also takes other teams very lightly which puts his own team in very bad positions towards the end of seasons. One would think he would learn from all this but he never adjusts his philosophy and approach.

I just dont get how everyone in media and fans alike are still considering MT a great coach?! Am I missing something here? I understand he has never had a below 500 season, but no playoff wins in 7 years and you’re still considered great?!

Esp against Brady and the Pats… wouldnt change defensive strategy for anything. Harrison the cb who played for the Pats was on national tv telling MT to play man to man instead of the weak ass zone def. But nope
Adding to this, not many teams found a way to stop Brady. But at least try something different.

It matter...I mean no team in the NFL have done worse that the steelers against Brady during this period....Yes,very few team have success in term of W-L against Brady but the steelers defense were not competitive for most of the time...2011 is a exception...At least Cowher beat him in 2004 when the patriots had a 21 game winning streak.....He had also Kordell Stewart in 2 of those game.

I could said the same thing right now for the steelers against Mahomes....15 TD,1 INT in 3 only 3 games for him against us
