We have signed Coach Mike Tomlin to a three-year contract extension.

Happy that Tomlin got extended. That said, his playoff record needs a SERIOUS OVERHAUL. With any luck, 2024 is the season for if not, I don't see how 2025 is going to offer much barring some extreme changes....

... and I mean EXTREME CHANGES....

It wouldn't have made sense to keep Tomlin after the last season if he wouldn't have received a contract extension for the next few years...It would have been a real circus if he would have been in the last year of his contract....The lack of playoffs win is a big deal but it can change quick too,so we will see

    I sure hope so.

Very fair to say at this point that Tomlin is not capable of getting over the hump. Will have to see if that changes in 2024. For Tomlin's sake?! I hope so.

Nothing drives EXTREME CHANGES like a 3yr contract extension to guy who’s been here for 17 yrs. This is a pat in the back for a job well done, not a hard message of accountability for results.

I believe you may have misunderstood that part.

When I stated "extreme changes", I mean a new "Face of the Franchise". However, to get said face?!... team might have to make some difficult, and I mean DIFFICULT decisions. Next years QB Class isn't very good (presumably). Even if this proves incorrect, our QB situation isn't the best currently for quite a bit is being banked on here; Russell Wilson showing he still has something to offer and Justin Fields' showcasing he still can be "the guy". Should neither work out but Pittsburgh finishes with a winning record again, what is the fall back plan?! Even good QBs like this previous draft showcased aren't going to be available in the 20s.

Tomlin extension doesn't matter. Either one of the QBs balls out or the Steelers are still waiting on their next franchise QB.

That is a solid comparison. Lewis could take highly talented players with issues, keep them in line and win regular season games, unfortunately he coached a team in the same division as the Steelers and Ravens. I imagine if the bungles were in the AFC South he might have had more playoff success

Side note: Man is Paul Skenes good!! Here is hoping Bob Nutting doesn't ruin him. My good friend Nathan won't stop telling me about him. :lolol:

Pirates have Major League starting pitching and some bottom feeders in the MLB world. On a Pirate message board we take bets on how long until Bobby boy trades him for future players that never work out.

Ugh... man... I am sorry to hear that.

Isn't there any way to get rid of Nutting or is it just going to have to come down to someone buying the Pirates?!

There isn't one, he pockets about 21 million every year from the luxury tax in MLB
yet payroll one of lowest in mlb.
