Come on, Glenn. I'm glad TTF banished his butt too but don't you think that's over the top. I mean, in the grand scheme of things TTF banning this idiot will barely register in Steeler nation. Another Super Bowl win. THAT will be great news for Steeler Nation!

For those saying Tomlin doesn't coach and don't believe I S hands were tied with Lebeau he has been personally working with the DBs on cover 2. Also this is the first sign of change in the defensive philosophy as we used to run a lot of cover three to prevent the big play leaving the underneath wide open.

Yes. And to elaborate further, our head coach was the "rah rah" coach before games. Speeches and pep talks were what he did. During practices he sort of walked around the field looking and watching while the assistants and coordinators were teaching the players basically everything in terms of plays, assignments and techniques. During games the Offensive and Defensive Coordinators called all the plays. Consequently the guy I'm talking about is considered among the most decorated HS coaches in the state's history.

Is there a follow up question?

I don't know where that hands off stuff comes from. Because he's not raining spittle on his players on Sunday?

No one is privy to what goes on during the week at practice but I know I have seen a number of clips with him coaching players.

Exactly I played for one of the more decorated coaches in PA history as well and he let his coaches coach unless as he was walking around he seen something he thought the other coaches didn't notice with a formation or something. He was always supporting us though and always had our backs and there wasn't a player on our team that wouldn't go through a brick wall with no helmet on for him. And you want to talk about old school I think he won the Tangerine bowl back in the 50s as a starting QB.

That's how I felt about the WR coach. Would have done anything for the guy. The head coach was completely detached from a large portion of the team. I think his background was as a lineman, so he hung out with them every day and that was it. I was a WR and DB and I can say that in 4 years, he probably came over into either group practice to check it out, no more than 5 times. We saw him during team activities and the end of practice, that was it. The guy literally probably said 20 words to most of the WR's and DB's in our high school careers, if you don't count pre-game speeches.

One of the down sides of watching games on TV is you dont see the behind the scenes stuff that is really happening during the game. Watch a game live and it is very diffrent. Tomlin is very hands on when the game is going on. very hands on. You don't turn that on and off. There is no doubt, he is "The Man" in charge.

Tomlin is already displaying more control over coordinators or at least it's been reported he is running the secondary practices and not Butler.

He was more hands off defensively perhaps because of the respect he had for DL?

Most of the HC I have had experience with were pretty hands on
with what was going on, It seems you have had a different experience.

mt knows the tampa 2 so him coaching it over butler is recommended. i want the best coaches knowing what they know the best. dl was a db coach and player. if mt's 2cents worth helps then he should help that position. carnell grew up in the 3-4. it's going to take some time for mt to teach his position coaches the fine points of these other defenses to to get the full knowledge passed on to the players. i could see him making quite a different swing at helping then he did under dl, just for the simple fact he knows it better than probably anyone here.

Coach T is a solid Football coach he wants to win and he has a good knowledge of the game . Players like him and they share and trust his vision. Can't really get a better HC than that .

Above all else, I like stability and believe it's really what makes us us.
Loved Cowher, spit and all but Tomlin's "the man" now and keeping with the above statement believe he should be for years and years to come. That's what makes us different IMHO

So, once the choice was made I'm all in!
