The point is, it takes more than a franchise QB to win in this league. It's flat out hard to win championships. For instance, how many Super Bowls have Marino, Elway, Brees, Peyton Manning, Rivers, and Rodgers won? None of those guys have won more than Ben. In fact, only 4 quarterbacks in the history of the league have won more championships than Ben. So to say that Tomlin somehow failed in this regard doesn't seem to hold any water. It's a team game, even though the QB and the HC probably matter more than most of the pieces.

And, in fact, only 13 coaches ever in the history of the league have won more Super Bowls than Tomlin. It's just that hard to win it all.

I just think ... that these wins are only delaying the inevitable. We will probably end up 8-8-1. Tomlin will be praised again for not having a losing season and we will go nowhere. And, draft at the bottom of the list. Missing out of draft pick talent of need.

It's really impossible 2 miss out on draft pick talent in the 1st round no matter what pick. Especially when You have so many holes.
    I'm not wording that correctly.
What I'm trying 2 say is there is really 1st round talent all through the draft....as You see across the league. The problem is who is being picked....not what round ,or number picked in the draft. $hit ton of examples if one cares 2 look. Just like there is a bunch of 1st round picks that should never have been 1st round picks.

If you want to think that we have no talent... that's fine. then be honest and say Tomlin is doing less with less.

I can see why you would think we lack talent. I think that is the case at several positions but I think we have the talent to be good.

We have under achieved so many years I lost count. I do know we had tons of talent over the last decade and nothing to show for it. I have a hard time believing this team could not be better. Alot of issues I see appear to be lack of preparation and mental errors. We struggle to get 1st downs. We have veteran WR's and QB's. We have a very talented RB and TE.

I've seen plenty of other coaches do more with less. I have a hard time believing Bush, Schobert, and Highsmith are the worst talented LB's in the NFL. I also have a hard time believing our D-line is really this bad . The issues seem to be technique and preparation and a total lack of depth all over the field.

Drafting low for 10+ years will impact a a roster. And that is not just 1st round, it is every round. When was the last time we drafted a player in the top 10?

And after the first round? Rosters are built on rounds 2-7 and we have selected low in those rounds for over a decade. Eventually it would catch up. We can’t hope to find a Watt every year.

Having a HOF QB doesn't guarantee a HC a Super Bowl- it guarantees not having a losing season.

Marino his last season and one other losing season; Elway his rookie season and 1 more; Peyton his rookie season and 1 more; Brees actually had the most of any elite QB with 5; Rodgers 2; Luck 1; Wilson 0; Mahomes 0; Brady 0.

It's really not a great accomplishment to not have losing seasons with an elite or HOF type QB. It's pretty standard.

I think the knock against Tomlin is that he has beat 1 starting QB in the playoffs in the last 11 seasons while being knocked out by QBs that are out of the NFL within 2 years like Bortles and Tebow.

Agree overall. Maybe we do have an average talented team, why not, our record reflects that. Maybe MT is doing average with average players and that is all the owners really care about which is why he is still around. So, right now, we have an average coach with an average team achieving an average record. I would argue that a Steeler Fans self-esteem has a hard time being satisfied with being average at anything. So, on we march to the same beat that we've had for some time until we are no longer average. JMO>

Yeah Wilson has to win out to go .500. We all know the accomplishment of a "not losing" season. Haha.

I don't know what is going on in Seattle. I know Carrol wrecked their OL a few seasons back with his OL hire. I don't get how their defense is 31st in yards allowed but 4th in points allowed. Is the defense excellent or terrible? Haha.

I do know I hate Seahawks fans as the whiny fair weather fans they are. I actually really liked their team composition in the early 2010s but cannot stand their fan base.

when you use 3 draft picks on a first round bust that will take its toll. Did KC draft top 10? Did GB? Did the ravens? Many top teams don't draft top 10 every year.

I still would like to see accountability and responsibility and discipline. Haven't seen it for some time
If I was Art II I would be asking myself these questions throughout the organization. Coaches/players/ FO need held accountable.

The team is pretty young, especially on the Oline/offense. I think they can grow and improve. I wouldn't write them all off as terrible players yet. Hopefully, some of the young secondary players can blossom. Man, how nice would it be to actually have 2 shut down corners and a ball hawk safety?!

there are also 22 positions not counting special teams. that's top 22 players in a 32 team draft system. you can still get players at the top of their positions later in rounds. they have neglected the trenches for a long time. our last offensive or defensive line picks of the first two rounds came in2010-11-12. the offensive linemen from then are gone. only one of the defensive linemen still plays. when you neglect important positions no matter what round when there are still players that are ranked top 3 at there positions you create this problem on your own.

Missing out on draft picks? By what, not tanking? You try to win every time you play the game, just like anything, you try your best. You don't just quit or tank a game....

in the 2019 draft we traded our 2019 first and second round picks and a 2020 third round pick to Denver to get Devin Bush at 10. Under Tomlin we've also traded away picks to move up in the draft order to pull in stars like Mason Rudolph and Isaiahh Loudermilk.
