My only view on the pats is the ability for pro scouting. Their drafts have been as mediocre as most.

Maybe the focus should have been Ben not delivering.

All these comments are really a chicken or the egg argument.

Coaching failing players or players failing coaching.

I don't think it's that simple but lean towards our UDFA corner for half the year, our 3-4 former practice squad olb and DEs that are starting or in regular rotation.

I think that may give us a clue?

Maybe it was the players that deserve the credit and won in spite of MT. Haven’t been on the “move on from MT” bandwagon, but I’m starting to lean that way.

We’ve gotten the best Tomlin has to offer. He won a SB with a roster full of drafted or signed players by his predecessor, and not much since. The best 10 years he’s been JV.

His coachspeak is beyond reproach, that much is for certain.

You want to talk about more with less. Nobody wants to hear it but Hairbaugh is down 7 against the Packers with their backup qb, half their d (I think 0 secondary starters) either hurt or on the Covid list, 3rd and 4th string rbs, Villy starting at left tackle cause the starter is done for the year. I’d say that’s more with less. Tomlin still has 6 first rounders on his defense.

y’all keep propping up our cheerleader we call coach.

As soon as I write it he’s dumb as well ands goes for 2 again like a dumba$$.

Is 151 wins not a large number? I suppose Urban Meyer could have also easily achieved this. Or Matt Nagy, or Todd Haley, probably even Matt Patricia. You know, most guys.

Did Meyer or Nagy or Haley or Patricia have Big Ben Roethlisberger at QB for 15 seasons?

I’m a little slow, and don’t fully understand the point you’re making.

Sure it does. This forum is divided between the MT haters and the MT apologists. When we win, the apologists get on their pedestals and fling praises a plenty to try and make the last 10 years seem like they didn't exist because we barely won a game that we didn't play well in. When we lose, the MT haters are on their pedestals demanding a coaching change yesterday. Winning as ugly as we are makes it tough for either camp to establish a lock on the reality of what we're going through right now. We won. Yipppeeee and i am truly happy and glad. But we're still not a good team and it doesn't matter who is to blame. Even though the apologist will thump their chest and proclaim our coaches can actually win with the roster they created, it doesn't change who we are until we prove otherwise. JMO>

We aren’t winning a playoff game this year. Each additional regular season win furthers us from better draft positioning. It’s bittersweet.

I don't think all the Tomlin hate is just "we lose, Tomlin sucks". There are very fair criticisms of Tomlin that have dogged him for years. When this team has been super talented, we've played down to the competition level (Tomlin has an extremely poor record against sub 500 teams for someone that has as many successful seasons as he has). He has been atrocious in his time management (today was just a sample, but he has been consistently bad here for years). He has won only 30% of his challenges since 2014 (for plays that are considered 50/50 that is an abysmal number). The team has had the habit of not showing up in the first half (this has plagued us well before this year, just look at our last two home playoff games and the two scrubby QB's we lost to). Speaking of playoffs, he is 3-6 since we lost the Super Bowl to the Packers. For as many talented teams that we had since then, this is probably his biggest failure of all. None of these things have been fixed, worked on, etc. The standard is the standard, and we have been standardly bad in these departments for years, and will very likely continue to be for as long as Tomlin remains coach.

We as fans are super spoiled. The Steelers have had such talented and killer teams for the past 15 years we don't even know what an average team looks like. We "feel" as though our team is terrible and its crazy that we are 7-6-1 with such a "bad" roster, but the reality is that we have a VERY average NFL roster. We just haven't had a truly average roster for a very, very long time. We have some stars on our team, and a few glaring holes. However, its not like we are the talent level of the Lions/Jets/Giants and are finding ways to win games. We just are an average team. Tomlin doesn't deserve some lauded accomplishment for being average with an average team. Nor should he be bashed for being average with the same team. The fact remains that Tomlin isn't the worst coach ever and our team isn't the worst team ever.... but moving forward Tomlin needs to do some BIG 180's in some crucial areas in order for our luck to change. Otherwise we will continue to be painfully average OR be talented and underachieve. Neither are ideal.

We beat the Titans without AJ Brown and Derrick Henry. Seattle without Russell Wilson. I will give them credit if they can beat a healthy Chiefs team. Until then I will wait to pat Tomlin on the back. If I was going to put money on the game it would be on the Chiefs. The Vegas line will show you just how good we are. How many games do you think we can win giving up 180 yards rushing while we run for 30.

Yeah great but what side are you on! All must know for bashing! I don't know how to yell at this post.

    Jk.
You're not wrong. My only point of contention is "roster they created (coaches)."

I'm sure you know it's more than just coaches but just saying this is a team with a lot of cast offs.

I'd like to suggest good on these guys, peirre tuszaka Wormley taco leglue mondeuax ahkello that are productive. It's not end all but it's great reps and positive ( and negative ) impacts. I'm happy these dudes have the word positive associated with their play, that's huge.

I probably spelled half of those wrong because they weren't on the 52 week 1. That's a lot in week 15.

In life, there is some flexibility in the rules

    Personally, I’m thankful for this

Hard to disagree with any of this. Winning cures all, and .500 with one and done playoff runs don’t help the fan base.
