I've been one of the louder voices screaming for him to go. I don't know if he is or isn't, but when there's smoke there's fire.

The voices screaming for him to go are no more or less numerous and loud than the ones wanting Cowher gone back in the day before he won a SB.

Anyone against Tomlin being fired and supporting Sirianni being fired is a head scratcher. One is in year 17 and hasnt won a postseason game in 7 years and the other is in year 3 coming off a SB appearance and made postseason all 3 years as HC. Why sirianni doesn't get the latitude that Tomlin has gotten is strange to me.

I want an offensive up and comer that understands the running
and passing game. A teacher like Noll was, that can get the most
out of their players potential.Must be able to put players in position to succeed.

When you mentioned Noll it brought back a memory, so long ago it may be a bit off, but I believe it was during a player strike, (83, 84???), they brought in scab players and the article mentioned Noll looked like he was having the time of his life (my words). He was in the trenches teaching the game and position he loved, I think that separates the truly greats from the very successful, the love to teach and expand their craft.

The talk of 'us' being spoiled, lol. The breakdown in the Eagles is i'm sure disappointing for the fans, but pulling the plug this quick, damn we are nearly saints of endurance compared to that, lol

I agree. The reports are that Tomlin will take some time to consider stepping down. This by no means means that he is actually going to.

Btw, I also have been calling for him to go. Doesn't really matter. It's Mike's world. We all just live in it.

IDK about that. After the loss to the Colts even the most loyal Tomlin apologists were quiet. Just look at the thread here that Glenn started. Nearly 100 percent of the people who post here were calling for his head. Very rare that many people agree on anything.

I never remember a time Cowher's popularity was that low.

    Maybe after 1999 for Cowher?

I honestly think the decision is already made and we'll hear about an extension/resignation by his first post-season presser.

When Cowher made that decision there was talk of when to do it, he basically said let's get it over with. Now the reason may be different, but if any of this is true, when you start to doubt if this is still the job you want, then it needs to be I really do not want to do this anymore.

The buck stops with Tomlin. So even know I think he is a good coach overall, the playoff drought has been too long.

Still appreciate what he has done, I say it all the time, he keeps them in the hunt every year for the playoffs. I’m sure the fans that have mocked that point of view aren’t excited at all this weekend, you should just go do yard work tomorrow.

The Tomlin only wins games because of Ben narrative has been completely turned on its head.

My gut tells me he's coming back.

Tomlin is smart enough to know he is in a great situation here. This is Mike's organization. Contrary to posts you read on here, EVERYTHING that is the Pittsburgh Steelers, runs through Mike. Unless Tomlin decides to go into broadcasting, he will never find an NFL gig as sweet as the one he has.

Ben needs to get his fair share of the blame for the playoff drought. No doubt.

I hear you. I mean, what other NFL organization would keep a HC that's done next to nothing for 13 years? Tomlin seems to be fine with being Marvin Lewis 2.0, and so does AR2

Cowher was losing talent in droves in 1996-98. Context matters. Plus Cowher didn't have a franchise QB until his last three seasons, one of those seasons being Big Ben being an idiot and eating a windshield.

My gut tells me he's getting a phat pay raise to work with Amazon or Peacock to do 1/8th the work he currently does in a nice studio for pregame, halftime and post game shows.

True but losing twice to a team who finish the season at 3-13 in 1998(Bengals) and losing against the expension Browns in 1999 was awful....The steelers were 5-3 before that game in 1999 but finish at 6-10....It was awful.I don't consider Ben as a true franchise QB in his last 3 years(2019 to 2021) too

Well that's not true....a huge %of this board said Canada was a good OC, and Ben was holding the offense back....man how dumb do they look now.....a huge % of this board said Trubisky was good, and Chicago was His problem.....LoL....LoL.....a huge % of this board said Mason was not only bad, but lucky to have a job in the NFL, and boo at him during a freaking preseason game....like He murdered their only child......LoL.....
So all in all ....it just shows many aren't very bright, and it shows like many studies have shown....people follow good , or bad....mob mentality. It doesn't seem to matter if they are wrong , or right.
Now Here come the guilty ones trying to make excuses. LoL

How do You compare a Guy with two trips to the SB, a SB win, playoff wins, and no losing seasons to... a Guy with no playoff wins, no SB appearance , and 6 losing seasons????
 What do they have in common???
This is why I can't take some of this seriously.

Was that with Pittsburgh? I know his record but he was the steelers best OC ever per stats I believe.
