I am not backing Tomlin, nor am I necessarily a big fan. What I'm saying is there are Steeler fans out there that will find fault in everything he does because they want him gone. This thread is another example of it. When you start fretting over something that hasn't even happened yet, you are going to blame everything negative on the coach and praise the players for everything positive.

Tomlin will use Harris how he sees fit, and if he gets hurt, then he gets hurt. It's part of the game. Like I said, no matter how Tomlin handles Harris, people that want Tomlin gone will find fault in it, same as they find fault in every decision he makes, every strategy he employs. It gets tedious. I'm also secure in my opinion that many of the same people fretting over how Harris gets used also screamed at the clouds the second he was chosen. If they had chosen a stud tackle or center, would there be hand wringing on the amount of snaps they'd be getting?

    2014
    21 - 11 - 21 - 19 - 15 - 19 - 12 - 24 - 10 - 11 - 33 - 21 - 26 - 20 - 20 - 8

    2015
    19 - 22 - 21 - 24 - 17 - 10

    2016
    18 - 20 - 10 - 21 - 14 - 17 - 28 - 23 - 29 - 38 - 23

    10 - 27 - 15 - 35 - 15 - 32 - 35 - 25 - 26 - 12 - 20 - 18 - 13 - 24 - 14

@hmmmmm these numbers aren’t running the wheels off of anyone. Look at how many of those games in the teens. 5 games in his career with over 30 carries.

I saw our #1 pick getting rolled up on behind a 4th string offensive line, but you do you.

Playing your starting RB in 4 straight preseason games is stupid.

It hasn't happened yet, Tomlin could change his mind, you act like Harris will get 20-25 touches in these games .

But...It's being said that Tomlin DIDN'T run his wheels..This is evidence that what I said in my first post that " Tomlin can't get out of his own way " and is infatuated with him...Which scares me

I don't see the problem with 10 touches per game this preseason

He has to ready to go snap one week one.

Not playing a rookie in all your preseason games is stupid and gross mismanagement of player development.

Crowley and Williamson made a great point on the post game show - Harris has never played more than 15 games in a season, now he's going to play 21. Unless they bring him along slowly, which is doubtful, he'll likely hit a wall late in the year even if he stays perfectly healthy.

That's why they need to keep Ballage, Snell, and MacFarland on the roster to spell Harris.

He had 7 carries last night. I think we can put this thread out of it’s misery now.

Um, of course there will be other backs on the roster. The question is, will they take the load off of Harris or will...

    Well, read the Subject line.

And I could easily change the title to..."Tomlin would be stupid not to run the wheels off Harris". Ballage showed some promise as did McFarland but come on, we know where the most production is going to come from. Let's draft a RB in the first round and get a ton of criticism then not use him to his full potential....sounds like an effin great plan

i think we got to see ballage as a backup plan. we saw edmunds who i still think MT likes. this is a new offense and najee is a rookie. they need to play.

    But...........

Bell caught a ton of balls also, Which means he never came off the field...Which obviously factored in to my " ran his wheels off theory "

I was impressed with Ballage. Hopefully he gets meaningful work in the regular season and they don't simply use Najee as a crutch. Too many games to rely on one guy.

If Najee gets 18 carries a game, that puts him over 300 carries. Backs who do that don't have a good history the following year.
