I don't know that I would trust anything deadspin says. Although I will say that I also wouldn't be surprised to see Peezy acting this way. Maybe the reason we never see Tomlin "showing emotion" is because he might use it all up on high school games instead? LOL!

I'm telling you, Joey Porter is an absolute idiot and Pittsburgh needs to send him on to his next assignment. Don't see much in the article that indicts Tomlin, other than the f bomb tirade berating the officials in a high school locker room. Pretty pathetic if true.

Here's how Sean Payton addressed a high school team. It inspired Kenny Chesney to write a song about it actually.

The original poster's link is from deadspin, but the actual article is from the Indiana Gazette by John Steigerwald. I was never a big Steigerwald fan, but he is a long time local writer-reporter, so I'd guess this has some credence.

Always good to know who to blame for a pop country song. Thanks a lot Payton!

I loved Porter as a player but it's kind of a 'pretend I didn't see the casino fight video' thing.

I saw this article yesterday but was afraid to post it because I thought people would go apesh*t and I didn't want to ruin anyone's Sunday. :lolol:

Its well known that Porter is a hot head....but he's also one of the greatest players and coaches to approach at training camps, etc. Just not at the casino or bar after midnight maybe not so much. But he always signs for the kids and fans and takes extra time for things like that. So he definitely gets bonus points for that.
The only Tomlin evidence is the Patriots video AB streamed....and I thought he only spoke the truth with some curse words involved. Tomlin seems like a stand up guy in my book

So, what these kids are seeing and witnessing is extremely bad behavior and sportsmanship from Professional coaches and former NFL player. Their actions tell them this is normal and acceptable behavior which it isn't. Truly sad !! Instead of being a positive influence in young men's lives they become this....

I wonder why Gildon was truly fired.... How his actions/demeanor and influence was?

Interesting point---- the reaction from fans on this site. Most all defend and support Tomlin yet agree On what was suggested about Porter. We truly are known by our actions. I've raised my kids so they'll understand this---- " You sin, you can and may be forgiven of that sin BUT you Must still have to deal with the consequences of that sin"..... And in today world of social media, camera phones and Internet all is there there to be seen forever.

If it was steigerwald it would have been on the news. Anyone in steeltown see this on the news?
More reason why I only drop in during the off season from time to time. It also would have been on ESPN and oh! Don't see Tomlin dropping F bombs with his kid in the room after the NE thing.

Well, it was John Steigerwald, unless the Indiana PA paper is publishing stuff in his name without his knowledge. But you're right, that it is odd that it hasn't been reported widely. The article is listed as 'Commentary', so I wonder if you can't get sufficient sources to verify. Porters alleged behavior is totally believable. Tomlins, I have some doubts about.

Well, this was before the NE thing. It was definitely Steigerwald. He was defending the story adamantly on Twitter yesterday.

That's a great point. I wondered why it was listed as commentary when I started reading it. I think you're on to something there.

I don't believe either did what they are accused of. Tomlin because I just can't see him doing that and Porter, because not a single person captured it on their cell phone? Riggghht. I guess no one else attended the game besides Porter and Tomlin.

There is a longer article on Steelers Depot.

Something about Gildon getting fired as HC of this Highschool Team? I'd hate to see that if that were true?

I think he was only HC for a short time, but was successful at it.

I don't believe that Tomlin did anything untoward, especially after reading this.

I ABSOLUTELY believe that the idiot, Joey Porter, was once again acting like a FOOL! The Steelers need to get rid if his freaking rear end immediately!!!

All I know is Porter is vilified about the Cincy game where he never opened his mouth.

I know assault charges were dropped with the bar incident because video didn't back it up.

Now we have these accusations with no evidence but he said she said. Wheres the video? You really going to tell me no one captured this incident on their phone? Really? Seem people just want to lynch Joey because they dont like him.
