That’s not fair...he has a great win percentage
If it was really a fake punt it was a bad decision. Coaches make mistakes. No one is perfect. The team played well enough to overcome the mistakes that players and coaches made.
The people that attempt to sum up Tomlin's coaching career based on mistakes are very short sited. Enjoy the win.
This was intriguing.
m To bad we didnt have a tieout to use if thats the case
If Tomlin were a good coach, he would have gotten Berry a hearing aid!
He's never had a losing season
To bad the stupid play was called in the first place.
Just reporting what was said. Coaches make mistakes and Tomlin isn’t exempt from that. It was not a great call for the situation. At the end of the day he made enough good decisions to win the game.
I know you don't like it but Tomlin is a good coach. Enjoy the wins.
Yes coaches make mistakes but in that situation how could a fake punt/run even enter into a realm of someone’s brain?
Based on the alignment of the coverage team. Having faith in your defense.
TOMLIN needs to get some credit but let’s face it this team is where it’s at because of two things.
1. An incredibly weak schedule
2. The trade for Minkah turned this D into a top 5 Unit.
That’s it folks
We've won 7 of our last 8 and 3 in a row with a 3rd and 4th string QB and so many people wank about how "bad" Tomlin is. Unreal!
It wasn’t the best decision that’s for sure, but if you watch enough football you’ll see these types of things happen with other teams every Sunday.
Regardless of what he says, I don’t think that fake punt debacle is on him. Some kind of miscommunication since 0 players blocked for Berry.
Throwing on 2nd down at the end, I have no problem there. Play to win the game. That is a low risk, high percentage pass and the defensive guy made a great play to tip it. You think worst case there our guy gets tackled immediately, best case he breaks a tackle or two and scores to ice the game. Worth the 40 sec risk IMO.
The Steelers are not going to win pretty the rest of this year. Period, full stop. Games are going to be close. Excruciating. That’s a reflection of the lack of talent this team has on offense. The fact they’re winning these close games instead of losing them is a testament to coaching and team cohesiveness.
And I'm sure, in your world, Tomlin gets no credit for the Minkah trade.
I think I heard today that Buffalo hasn’t beaten a team with a winning record this season. you can only play the teams on your schedule.
im sure if you go back and look at our Super Bowl seasons back in the 70’s you’ll find out that all those wins weren’t against World Beaters.
Nuh uh! It's only Tomlin! Okay, sometimes Andy Reid too...…...
(I wish I could get the green font to work again)
It may have been called, but it sounds like Berry didn't hear it called off by one of his teammates. It was just dumb, you have a 10 point lead and the defense was playing good.
I would assume Colbert gets more credit for that trade but wouldn’t say Mike didn’t have some input. The D has really stepped up for that TOMLIN also has to get some credit as the HC
I don't believe in the weak schedule hypothesis. Every team can beat you if you don't play well. Takes more than 2 things to win in the NFL. All of the players and coaches are contributing to this team's success this year.
I didn't like that screen playcall at the end, a incompletion stops the clock, you're better off running the ball.
I understand playing not to lose can burn you but that was a clear run 3 times and kick a FG leaving them under 1 min and no TOs needing a TD. Was a dumb call period. And it was almost picked!
well that arizona crowd was deafening. Tough to hear the calls
going into such a hostile stadium.
