You would think the coaches would put the beat players on the field available. But then I would question why didn't M Bryant and Tuitt play sooner instead of only half the season. Why isn't Moats spelling Harrison instead of Jones ? Why didn't our new corners play sooner instead of waiting for the injuries to Ike and Troy? Just saying they don't always put the best players available in the game.

I think for some guys like Jones they want to give him playing time as the no. 1 pick but he is not at this time nessasary the best player available. Just my thoughts on this.

They're young guys learning a new system. Tuitt wasn't effective in his first couple of games - not bad, but not like he was more recently.

They aren't soothsayers - no coach can predict with 100% accuracy how well a new player will respond on the field - and there are mistakes they've made. But overall, they know who's doing well on the practice field and what they can do with the weapons they've got.

Probably because they weren't ready. It's not some giant conspiracy trying to keep the young guys off the field. If a wr doesn't know the playbook he's not going to start. It was the same with AB. There were reports in his second or third training camp that he was still struggling with the playbook. Once that obstacle was surpassed he passed Ward on the depth chart.

I just don't think he has it in him, Glenn. Troy cannot be a "vanilla" safety. He's not cut from that cloth. If Troy is on the field, he's going to try to do things that make Superman envious in spite of his good intentions. He's a warrior, not a guy just trying to make sure he completes his assignments and maintains his zone. Troy is incapable of doing the things he once did to everyone's amazement, but his mind still deludes his body into thinking he can. When he tries to accomplish the spectacular, which is his nature, he makes the entire defense susceptible to big plays. I hate to say this, but this defense is a better defense right now with Will Allen at safety instead of Troy.

This and seems to me it was a real good decision. Look how well they are doing, I have no doubt that the results would have been a lot less impressive had they been on the field day 1.

Okay with the young guys, but how about Jones playing over Moats?

Do you really think if Ike would not have been injured that 41 or 25 would be starting in his place.? Come on guys, let's be honest here.

I dunno. Cortez Allen was a starter with a lot of money wrapped up in him - he was still benched after a few bad performances. I think the injury simply hurried on the inevitable with Ike.
