Pastor Bob I have to disagree. To say fields does not have the smarts? We're do you get this from? Look at geno smith and sam darnold, it took them awhile to be Good starting quarterbacks.i like fields I hope we sign him. If we start fields on Saturday we might have a chance. But russ will start and we will lose!!!!!!

The failure rate of QBs in the draft is quite high, even for 1st round QBs.

I don’t think Brady is a fair comparison. How many other HOF QBs came out in the 4th round or later (in recent years)? The answer to that is you have to go back to the 40s, 50s, or 60s to find a HOF QB who was drafted 4th or later. Brady is and was a needle in a haystack.

Belichick's last first round QB was Mack Jones who crapped the bed as a starter. He's now a pathetic backup in Jacksonville.

Pickett seems to be doing well, minus the injuries, in Philly. He looks like a whole different QB in that system. That's what happens when a QB has a "real" offensive line and a good #2 WR.

This is the current Steelers QB room as well, but they tried. There was not much more they could have done.

Mason last year gave us the best qb play since Ben. This year, he had 2/3 Titans win. His two losses were against Bills and Detroit and he actually had the Titans leading at half time or the game was close. Against the Bills, Titans gave a kickoff for touchdown, punt return for a touchdown and one play long run for a touchdown on successive possessions. Titans didn’t have a running game or a right tackle. No one can win having 3rd and long on consistent basis with receivers dropping passes etc. It seemed Mason was the only one who wanted to win on the team when he started. He will never be a Mahomes, but he surely is a Neil O Donnell in this league. He is just as good as any of the free agents available.

Brady worked hard to be great

    Ben didn’t

    Pickett tucked tail and ran

Sometimes it’s also on the player

I wanted that guy but wasn't sure his shoulder was right. Thought he was punk coming out of college but something about that guy, he's a cocky gamer and as Viper said I like that in a pilot!

I didn’t like him when he was with Cleveland. Now that he is with Tampa he is more tolerable. Watching his game lately, I’d be all for bringing him to the Steelers. You can see his passion for winning.

He looked the same as he did here, worse even, he turned the ball over twice in one game and threw for 143 yards in both.
