jeh , just how many games did rudolf start over 5yrs. Not a stat guy so interested if the % really equals a fair shot ,or maybe we have been in a q.b. nightmare due to lack of good coaching . Became a 65 yr. fan because of The Chief being a straight shooter and fair , those things matter .

Peter King said today that he predicts that the Steelers QB next season will be Aaron Rodgers. He said Wilson has collapsed down the stretch and won't be back and if you look at Rodgers numbers this year they are better than what the Steelers QB's have produced. 3,900 yards, 28 TD's with 11 picks.

The fact that he was here for as many years as he was proves he was given a fair shot

    Actually more than fair

Starts have nothing to do with it

If he couldn’t do it in camp or preseason or practice you don’t waste a game trying to find out what you already know

Hard to call riding the pine because tomlin had a crush an mitch , was convinced he had a brilliant 1st.rd. qb in kenny and then a Suck appears but sitting down and keeping his mouth shut is a fair shot.

Sure if that had actually happened

    But it didn’t

Mason was here and given an opportunity for 4 years before either of those two showed up

If Mason had taken advantage of his opportunities and proven he had enough talent the Steelers would not have even acquired Mitch or the Coward

Its hard to get to and then win a SB, I know it was a different NFL, but look what Cowher did with O'donnell, Tomzak, and Stewart, got to one and did not win it, but even today you can compete if you build a team. Problem is we are to one sided, and the coaching and schemes are dated and inconsistent. Burrow had a terrific year and as bad as their D was they still had a guy with 17.5 sacks and still did not make the PO's. I have no idea what B to B plus QB may be available, but unless they build this team with some playmakers it will be more of the same.

Rudolph would have been fine here. You saw what he did in 4 starts late last year?

Maybe as a backup he's not the answer as a starter though.

I agree with you on the 3rd and 1 or the 4th and 1.

BUT, that last drive if Pickens makes that catch it is a TD, the next play if Muth makes that catch it is a FG. Both results would have been Steelers Win, Steelers Win.

Would like to see them draft/trade up in draft for a stellar QB. Then I think about the coaching and development that would(n't) happen with this staff. Need a self-starter.

The missed pass to Pickens was the game.

Muth makes that catch its around a 62 yard FG, hardly a sure thing even with Boz. Thats assuming they could even line up and spike the ball in time with only 10 seconds left.

    And this year

Aditi mentioned that play today, she said the minimum seconds a team needs to get off another play is 16 seconds. She said if Muth makes the catch and then drops to the ground immediately there wouldn't have been near enough time to get a play off.

Rally he start damn near a whole season when Ben was out with an injury and he couldn’t even keep the job this year with the Titians. He was so bad the put the turn over machine they drafted back in after they announced he wouldn’t play anymore this year. Dude is at best a backup in the league.

He lost his job to Duck Hodges, that's all you need to know about Mason Rudolph.

I see some of us are back to ignoring the failure that was the rest of his time here and his poor play for the Titans this year.

During his career he has lost his job to Duck Hodges and Will Levis. And somehow people think that he would be our franchise's savior.

Wow what was I thinking ,Rudolf over oldman wilson ,mitch , happy feet fields and a duck . No coach could turn a stand tall , step-up in the pocket ,descent arned but not 1st.round q.b, into good starting q.b. Well not any Steeler coach seems able to but other teams can. With our D a good q.b. and good coaching should get us at least the AFC title.

Don't forget his struggles on sideline routes and complete lack of feel for the pocket.

I would take Rudolph over Gary Oldman but, to be fair, that's not a fair competition. Rudolph does have a descent arn. It's on a slow descent from average to bad. Who are these coaches that are turning him into a good starting QB?
