You guys realize the only reason Felic Baumgartner jumped out of the balloon to set the free fall record was because when he got up in the air he realized someone had put a toaster inside it! You guys are lucky you have me here to enlighten you all with these little known facts. Honestly, I can probably provide you with more untrue and completely ficticious facts than probably anyone else I know. By the way, no, I am not running for President!

I had heard that about Baumgartner, so I'm sure it's not entirely ficticious. In fact, I also heard that what kept that David Blaine in the block of ice and in the 1,000,000 volts of electricity bubble was that they surrounded the outside with toasters. He knew that if he tried to get out, he would be confronted with hundreds of toasters. From what I've heard, that's his next trick. He's going to surround himself with a thousand toasters and attempt an escape. He's not real hopeful of success though.

Wow! This thread hasn't been posted to since the last Steelers loss. Just unacceptable and below the line. The standard is the standard here, guys - and I'm still afraid of toasters!

How `bout a toast to Lefty, IF he gets us a win against the Cravens?(With a lot of help from his supporting cast)..
I would still prefer Batch, to be honest...
But, this is a TEAM sport, and the rest of our team, ain`t too shabby.
I think it is realistic to hope that we can beat the injury depleted(on defense), Cravens, with our injury depleted Steelers...
We are playing at home, in some God-Awful ugly uniforms, that might blind the opposing team...
And, with any kinda luck, we might step up our intensity, knowing that we can get in the playoffs, and give Big Ben a chance to play in them, rather than, just assuming we will win these next few games, because Ben will find a way to win?
Yeah, I am grasping at straws...
But I just find it better to be an optimist, and have my unrealistic hopes crushed(I`m not sure they`re really that un-realistic), than to watch the game, with no hope of winning.
Any given Sunday...and, like I said, yes, I know, we ain`t the same team without Ben...
But, In a way we are...
Sux, that we probably won`t have Antonio Brown, either...
But, the hallmark of the PITTSBURGH STEELERS, is, that, when our 2nd stringers have to take the field, we have players that would probably be starting for other teams!:yeehaw:
I`m keepin the blind faith, and drinkin` some well-mixed Kool-Aid!:herewego!:
HERE WE GO STEELERS!!! HERE WE GO!!!
Put our backs to a wall, and you`ll be sorry you cornered us!!!
    GO STEELERS!!!

This was a VERY good team with Ben and it's a pretty good team without him. I think Lefty can handle the load, and I'm optimistic that this injury is going to make the rest of the team even MORE focused than they already were.

I wonder if Lefty likes toasters.

Anyone think that just maybe, the Clowns organization replaced sideline heaters with toasters yesterday? Haslam was a former Steelers owner, I might add. I'm also wondering if there may have been some baby oil rubbed on the balls when the Steelers were on offense.

    Just sayin'...

I was wondering if my entire team had become allergic to pigskin... There really is no other explanation.... and I couldn`t find any way to tie it into "toast"... Other, than we might be toast, if we can`t figure out how to hang onto the ball.
I also wondered if there was a "vaseline" conspiracy..
I seemed to remember another team recentley getting into trouble over using towels that were possibly laced with a "sticky substance', And I was begging for us to start using some of them... Or pass around the "stick`em jar"...

I still think that all of the fumbles, turnovers and dropped balls have something to do with toasters. It's just a feeling. Everything bad that happens always comes down to toasters in some way.

I'm pretty sure that, after the game, the Steelers presented Ray Rice with a toaster, wrapped in a Terrible Towel. I know that the network cameras didn't catch it, but I think I saw it in the background while Tomlin was shaking Hairball's hand.

I will now, officially raise a toast to Charlie Batch!!!
Way to prove the doubters wrong, with that second half!
I actually was debating with another Steeler fan at the bar, about pulling him after that first half, (Believe it or not, I was the one that needed to be talked out of replacing him), but he did a GREAT job, in leading us to an unlikely, and highly needed win!
Way to go Charlie! Here`s to ya!!!:drinks::herewego::shots::herewego!:

I second this! I never said I didn't like TOAST - or TOASTS - and Charlie Batch certainly deserved many of them on Sunday. I've always liked him and I really hope that not only does he go out a winner with such an excellent performance, but that he inspires each teammate to give 100% for these last 4 games - and into January. If that happens, this team will be difficult to beat.

What exactly does it mean to "raise a toast"? I am thinking now that both of those words have several meanings, as in raise an object upward or to raise a child --and similarly to toast a piece of bread or bagel or to propose a flattering acknowledgement of another person's worth. Now I am seeing also that both words are all about upward mobility anyway you slice it, or at least the connotation of upwardness. So is that where the connection to "flying monkeys" comes in? Or not?

OR.... The word "toast", can also denote an undesirable trait... as in Ike Taylor got "toasted"(burned), on that play, where the receiver ran by him, on his way to catching a wide open pass for a touchdown...
Or it can mean you are flat out, DONE...
As in, If you don`t make it into work on time tomorrow, you are TOAST!
As for the connection to flying monkeys, I think it is only relevant in that they like to eat toast while they are flying high above, so they can "fuel up" to leave flying monkey droppings on the fans of those who oppose us...Like the Ravens, Clowns, etc...
    But I`m not sure...
Ya might have to ask IowaSteelJim for clarification...:roflmao::shrug:
And, by the way, I have been known to carefully nurture the contents of my glass, before I proudly share them with the world, in celebration of another Steeler`s victory!!!:lolol:

    Here`s to HOPE!!!:guiness:
According to the wonderful field of mathematic probability...
(And the lousy play of every team in the AFC NORTH, that matters, last weekend)...
We still have HOPE of getting into the playoffs!!!
    I`ll drink to that!:shots:
Or to any day that ends in a 'Y", Or...
To us waking the F up, and playing like we are capable of!!!!:herewego!:...

On a side note, I am really missing Iowa Jim`s clarification on Grannieburgh`s "defintion" question...
There just HAS to be more to it than I am seeing...
Maybe I should stop lookin at the moon shine thru the bottom of a jug...
    Lol...
But it looks so PRETTY that way, and it helps to deal with the pain of my favorite team laying a plain egg, when they have the Golden Goose in hand!!!
Oh well, looks like it`s toast and eggs for breakfast, again... No meat to be had...:butcher:

Definitely worth a toast or two that we still control our playoff destiny after performing so poorly.

This team is starting to remind me of Bill Murray in "Stripes" when he says, "I'm pacing myself, Sargeant."

They need to PICK up the PACE - or I'm sending them all TOASTERS for Christmas!

I'm beginning to think that the Steelers are making laying eggs the norm this year rather than the exception. Ugggh. Here's hoping that they win out and extend the season.

<--- trying to wrap her brain around an image of you selecting a toaster, purchasing it, taking it back to your personal residence, wrapping it in giftwrap with your own hands, carrying it to the post office, and shipping it to him. I mean, all that proximity to a toaster! I can't believe you even thought that thought.
