Packers just traded for Micah Parsons. 188 million 4 year contract, 136 million GTD. Packers gave up 2026 and 2027 1st round picks and a DT.

47 million a year vs TJ's 41 million a year. It makes Micah the 12th highest paid player in 2025's season (so far).

We knew TJ wouldn't be the highest D player eventually this year. JMO, but I think GB gave too much, plus the money. Reminds me of the Bears, and Raiders with K. Mack, but it didn't work out for either one really.

I mentioned this before Steelers fans like to complain about Art ll at least he lets his football people run the show, Jerry in his eighties and still has to be the GM. Now you know why Dallas hasn't made it to the NFCCG since the mid 90s.

When I saw the amount GB paid for him, I thought of Kirk Cousins, Russell Wilson and DeShaun Watson........lol

Insane. All that draft capital and a cap busting contract. I feel very sure that Green Bay will regret this move. Parsons isn’t THAT good.

Parsons and Reggie White are the only two players to have at least 12 sacks in their first four years. Those two first round picks Dallas get are likely to be in the mid to late twenties, Parsons is versatile and can rush from different spots. The cap will continue to go up Green Bay is the youngest team in the league.

Green Bay traded a Pro Bowler (ok, that means about as much as a Cracker Jack prize) and 2 first rounders? Wow, and then gave him that record contract.
He's stacked a stats against crummy olines in the East. Against Philly he has 5 sacks in 7 games and 2 of them were meaningless.

I rank him as elite but not Reggie White elite, yet.

I am a big fan of TJ, and he can be a game wrecker, but he did disappear down the stretch last season. I'm hoping for a big season for him.

As mentioned he is elite..... I think I made that clear.

He has 10.5 sacks against Washington alone - when they had some god awful olines. If you do the math, that's 1/4th of his total.
I was surprised he only has 4.5 against the Giants, who are awful also... that's a head scratcher.
Dallas's defense will be missing him.
He is on pace with some of the best

    Demarcus Ware 138.5
Charles Haley 100.5 (had a knack of making big plays in big games..)
    LT 132.5

I don't think GB is one player short of a SB, but I think they do.
What I do see, is that he is a great addition (costly) and should get them into the playoffs.

People are missing the overall point of the trade as a whole. Whether Jerry wins or loses this trade is of no consequence to him in the long term. Short term ramifications are a different story but that isn't what Jerry is eyeballing.

For one, Jerry now has two to even three 1st round picks to play with. This puts all the pressure on Dak Prescott to perform. If he is unable to, add Dallas to the number of teams who will trade a kings ransom for a QB in Pittsburgh in the 2026 Draft.

For two, Jerry has basically punted the 2025 Season as a whole. Micah Parsons kept the Cowboys in a lot of games; backed by the DVOA that was posted above along with other analytics. Losing him now all but guruantees Dallas to have a losing record. How bad though remains to be seen.

For three and, the biggest reason?! Jerry doesn't give a damn about losing Micah. Why?! Fame and fortune; lots of it. Fame in the sense that every National Media outlet will discuss this trade along with Micahs 2025 Campaign in Green Bay; thanks to Dallas. Fortune in the sense that talking more about how the Cowboys have colossal effed up will increase both marketing and Ad revenue for Jerry; lining his pockets even more.

In short?! I sort of agree with @Steel_Elvis@Steel_Elvis here.

    Tactical Green Bay Packers Victory.

    Strategic Dallas Cowboys Victory.

Biggest winner is Jerry Jones overall.

Guy better be amazing or the State of Wisconsin will put him in cheese. I'd be pissed if Steelers gave up #1 pick two straight years.

This is probably true. When the two sides where not talking, it seemed pretty much the romance was over.
2 first rounders over the next two years combined with their own 1st rounders. That's a good haul.
It remains to be seen if it comes close to the Hershel Walker rip off. It could.
In the back of my brain, I think he's maneuvering for a QB. Dak just falls short, and it may be 50/50 on him or not.
Jerry will get lots of clicks, perhaps he'll even get another facelift.

Meanwhile, Micah goes up against some pretty good teams in a tough division.
Detriot, Chicago and Minnesota - he'll have his chance to really shine.

    I saw a Grade
Packers B+ I think they did pay a steep price but it could have been more had Jerry been better.
    Cowboys C+ I think that's a bit rough. I might have also given them a B+

Jones is a bit of a attention whore. Running off Jimmy Johnson was a blunder.. especially bringing in at nimrod that ate hot dogs.
This might sting a little for him.
