Here's a fun thing to try. Go to the Google machine and type "Raiders asked to take pay cut", and then keep replacing the team name. I think I stopped at 10 or 11 and found stories for every one.

    It happens all the time.

Cutting is the ultimate re-negotiation to zero. Teams also restructure deals to make cap space. These aren't hockey contracts.

I don't know how You can't be worried.
It's hard 2 remember someone not doing any live drills, and no preseason, and not getting a soft tissue injury. I'm sure it has happened, but all I can remember do get them.

Buffalo's a heck of a first game, so what do you do....play Ingram for 75% and Watt 25% until he gets acclimated?? I'm actually OK with that tbh. It will be tough not to see TW90 out there but there has to be some sacrifice for missing all of TC and pre-season. Take him in week 1 or week 18? The latter most definitely.

I totally agree with that. Work him in slowly. Like a preseason.

    This.

More so the fact that, given his Preseason, Highsmith will be able to evolve even more thanks in part to T.J.'s holdout. One man's misfortune is another's opportunity. Among the Steelers Players Overall I am most excited for, he sits at the top; Chase Claypool a close second and Kendrick Green following suit.

He and tuite will not be ready to play any significant minutes
in the Buffalo game. You probably won't see contributions needed from
these 2 until about the 4th week. It is a shame, a team that will be fighting
for their playoff lives and 2 of their best players may not be productive till week 4.

Lots of money to be made first couple weeks if this is the case. With our offensive line and overall offensive issues compounded by missing two of our best defenders for 3/4 weeks it could be a very ugly start even with games against Vegas and Cincy at home

They'd better win the ones they're supposed to, the last 8 games are brutal. If they go into that stretch worse than 6-3, gonna be a long season.

When this preseason ends, TJ will have played exactly the same number of preseason snaps as he did last yr. there’s no real need to play him or any established bet for that matter.

Browns play Chiefs and Bears wk 1 and 2, Ravens play Raiders and Chiefs, Bengals play Vikings and Bears. So midway through the 1st month AFC North could potentially have one win

If your a gambler, and know what you are doing possibly. It sure is a slap
in the face to us diehard Steeler fans some like me that have been watching them for over 50 years
that 2 of your best players will probably not play a factor in the first 3-4 games. They should donate their game checks to charity.

And maybe the year before? 2019 he spent most of the PreSeason on the PUP list with a hamstring injury.

In the first 6 games 4 of them are at home. So yes we need to start fast.

As for the last 8, injuries will completely change how those games are going to look.

Whatever it is, the deal should have been done a week or two ago. The Steelers are likely going into the opener without Tuitt and with a very limited Watt. That is not going to go well.

100%, ridiculous it has gone on this long

Seems the $160m includes his $10m this year so it’s effectively a five year $150m extension so the expected $30m a year

Hopefully it’s all done this weekend and he can get some practice in before the Buffalo game, albeit he is still likely to be a partial participant

I heard as soon as the last preseason game is over he will be the highest paid defensive player in the league
