Also added 2 what you said about Hours, and work. When bring up life ending injury. I have seen 1 friend, and 1 coworker lose Their Lives at work....for far, far less money.

I think they will pay Mayfield, he led them to their first playoff win in over 25 years, and they realize they finally have a decent QB.

True. But, the teams' needs aren't set in stone, they are is a constant state of flux. We may very well find out the hard way (well, Ben might lol) that the current offensive line is a disaster and they are going to have to spend money in FA to fix it. Just because they have depth this year at WR doesn't mean it will be there moving forward. Freiermuth could be a bust, then they are going to be looking for a TE, etc., etc., etc.

Would you rather have Mason, or Haskins start at QB instead of Ben?

He wants Mahomes. Thinks the NFL should be run like his FFT.

Right because Ben is washed I want the best QB in the league to magically appear on the Steelers. Sure I’d take him, yes.

You have arguably the best edge rusher and defensive player in the league pay the man!

I'm thinking if he is not signed I'll be changing season prediction won/loss record.

You've got two of the best players in the game at their respective positions about to enter their prime. You don't let them walk because you might need to spend at other positions later.

If Watt doesn't extend and they franchise him twice, both he and Minkah will both be gone by the 2024 season. Minkah will bolt after next season.

After the lost revenue from Covid and two decades of paying a franchise QB, that's probably pretty appealing to the Rooneys.

Actually.....yes. To see what they can do. Ben won't hold up for a 17 games season. He just won't. Then one of them will be starting anyway.

If they don't sign TJ to a contract, this is a signal that they plan to clean house and start from scratch next year. That would be a sad day for Steeler fans.

This elaborates more on why Watt wouldn’t hold out or be foolish to do so anyway:

    As Per Kolby:

“First, Watt has no leverage. He’s under contract through March, and if he decided to hold out the entire year, he won’t accrue a season and will be in the same position a year from now. He’ll be looking for an extension before he hits free agency but with $10 million less in his pocket.

Watt can accrue a season if he sits out the first 11 games (that would mean a Dec. 5 return against Baltimore) and returns for the final six. That would cost Watt money as he would not be paid for games he misses, but he would still have no negotiating power. The Steelers could then give him the franchise tag, which would be worth a projected $18 million, according to Over The Cap. That’s significantly less than his market value. A second franchise tag would be around $30 million, but by then, Watt would be 29, have no security and leave close to $18 million on the table. He’d lose more if he holds out for at least part of this season.

    It would
be in Watt’s best interest to sign an extension by the team’s deadline.”

trying to force the steelers isn't a good deal for anyone. detroit would be a good place for a couple of first round picks by next year for watt. play the game TJ and they will blink i believe. blink while you are walking out the door to a new franchise qb instead. remember we are looking for one and we have a couple of up and coming OLB'ers. maybe not on TJ's level but we could easily give ingram an extension and with the extra 1st round picks we could do a lot of fixing that spot.
