Fined $10,815. How do you come up with that number, why not just $11,000 :lolol:

All the while the untouchable zebras can do no wrong without any accountability. They are like weather forecasters. Oh well, got the call wrong and you lost the game but here is a nice apology letter with the NFL crest for you. So sorry. See you next week...

It did look pretty damn violent—haymakers, a wicked uppercut, etc. Optics matter, and that’s without speaking to whether or not he actually hit the player.

I think that is what ultimately the fine was about, that he was hitting the player when going for the ball. I haven't watched replays to see if he was but I’d be surprised if those weren’t connecting with him.

The first one was an uppercut where it looked like he got a bit of ball but more gut punch. I said last week that by the end of it he was looking pissed and coming down from over the top and not caring if he hit Collins at all.

Given TJ's impact in OT it is a good thing they didn't toss him out of the game given how it looked at the time.

It’s an actual formula based on a weeks paycheck. That way the fine has the same impact if you are a big paycheck guy or minimum wage. At least that is what I read a few years ago.

    Trevon Diggs was fined $7,981

Edit: That may be old news above. Apparently there is now a fine schedule that goes up by some percentage each year:

if he was making contact with the player by all rights he should have been ejected. he wasn't so what was the thinking by the NFL? the officials? why a fine and no call or ejection? why is it a problem after the fact now? shouldn't the officials be held accountable for no ejection at the time? BS is what it is.

He was flagged for unnecessary roughness.

I'd disagree there. A player can come flying in to disrupt a play and make incidental helmet-to-helmet contact with an opponent and the refs will flag it, but not eject unless there is significant show for intention. (And later, that player may well be handed a fine as well.)

Of course interpretation of intent makes it subjective, and thus open for debate, so there needs to be some kind of demonstration to make that call in a game where players are constantly running around crashing into one another.

Too bad he doesn't have Darius Leonard as a teammate to show him how to do it.

This remind me of the start. ... when debo... started getting fined. The year after, being named DPOY. TJ better watch out ... the refs don't like steelers physicality

Do you really think the refs stay awake at night just thinking about the Steelers

Nor to take anything away from a heads-up play by Leonard but looked like Deebo in trying to get extra yards didn't have the ball as secure as he could of. Heck of a play by Leonard though

The quality of the officiating has gone drastically down for some time now and I don't think its going to ever get better with who they are giving these jobs to. The total quality of the NFL is in the same boat. Goodell has done more to ruin this game than all the previous Comm combined. What a mindless and gutless POS.

I think this was more about image and PR. It doesn't matter if he punched at the ball and didn't hit the player, its that he punched and how it looked. I believe the fines are determined by the media more than the actual offense sometimes. With a spineless NFL commish in charge, this is what I expect.

Agreed on both points. He is a hell of a player, but hey, we get to watch Edmunds make no big plays at all every week!

They don't have to stay awake. But, you have to admit that debo was targeted
