Steelers whooped them so bad they fired the coach :lolol:

No interim named yet. Wonder if it will be Haley. I thought he was the one who was about to be fired but word is, Hue was gone after the season anyway, so they made the move now.

If they find a good coach, that team could finally make some noise. Might not be our push over anymore.

According to Dale Lolley that is six straight head coaches fired by the Browns directly after a loss to the Steelers. Lol. Too damn funny.

I bet their fans are saying...ABOUT TIME. LOL.

If they do not promote Haley, he will throw a fit.

Hale is coming from a winning program and culture. Hue was a representative of continued futility. I think that might have had something to do with it.

I always say I wish MLB had a salary cap, that way my Pirates might have a chance but the Browns are proof a salary cap does not level the playing field.

Big difference is that most of our game 2's with Cleveland have been season enders..
    This one is midseason

The Browns problem isn't a level playing field it's consistency and havinget a cohesive vision. It can take 3-5 years to get all the pieces in place to have a winning program. That is two years longer than most Browns coaches get. Then comes new coach, new schemes and philosophy which mean's new players and draft strategy which means square one every three years. They really are mired in futility until they find the right coach.

They named an offensive assistant as interim head coach. I feel bad for Jackson. He took the hc job of an organization in complete disarray. The record doesn’t reflect the improvements they’ve made, but they are clearly an improved team.

Al Saunders is the new Interim Head Coach.

Given the circumstances, it is likely yet another one will appear next season as well. John Dorsey, much less any GM, would continue to operate with a coach that they have insufficient experience and/or knowledge of.

This tells me one of two things. Haley is a candidate. They didn’t want to make him interim because other coaches would assume he was a shoe in and wouldn’t bother to interview. Or two, he’s not going to be considered as a candidate so why use him interim.

There, you have it from me first. Haley may or may not be a candidate as their next head coach.

    This, absolutely.

I didn't think Hue would lead them to the promised land, but he seemed to be doing something to turn things around, and responsive to the issues that had dogged the team previously - on-field and off.

If I was the Browns, I would have waited until at least the end of the season, then put in someone who could build directly off what Jackson had done.

Haley isn’t the long term answer for them either.

He was a terrible hire, should have been fired before now, and leaves a bad stink on a team with some useful parts. Browns gonna Brown.

Keeping Haley and Williams in place as coordinators is the right thing for the Browns to do. Promoting either of those two to HC would be too big of a disruption. Browns have the talent to win some games... maybe not many, but they can win a few games before the season is done.

1-31 wasn't bad enough to get fired along with going 0-16 but they actually won 2 games and now he gets canned lol

Holy sh*t... I didn't see that in the news on NFL Network during my lunch break. Rappoport and others were saying Haley was a candidate to replace Jackson.

Makes zero sense to fire him while only having an interim coach. Would have made more sense to keep him until a new churc is hired and let him decide on his assistants .

Now Mayfield has to learn a new system mid-season.
