We know this is Timmons last season, some fans can't wait to bash him and push him out the door. The Steelers were smart not to restructure his contract, that 8 million comes off the books next year.

Yeah they will sign him for less money and he will start until someone beats him out, right now I dont see anyone making him a back up, like Farrior the pundits kept saying he was to old to play but no one could replace him ....

There's a reason why the extended Williams and not Timmons. Lawrence has been a really solid player for us for a long time, but he's getting old and we need to have a plan for the future. He won't be here next season.

hopefully dupree is back next year. chickillo. moats. we have gained fort, matakevich and signed williams and have johnson and shazier. we will probably bring in someone and or draft one on the outside. the cupboard shouldn't be bare, just different.

Williams signed a decent backup extension...he is capable of starter...but if Timmons walks they will be drafting a LB high and letting him sit until he overtakes Williams.

Are you comfortable with Williams as a starter? I like him but I don't think he's a star in the making.

Not necessarily, but I don't think he's any better or worse than Timmons at this stage in his career. We're probably looking at a ILB one if the first three rounds next year though. If JJ and Harrison are gone, we can pretty much bet that OLB will be high on he list too. Maybe a LT or another CB as well

I've been thinking LT will definitely be a focus pretty early.

Timmons was 3rd in tackles today with 7. Shazier led with 11.

That's fine, I just dont' think you'd find any non-Steelers fans that share your opinion. I just don't see him in the same league as a Keuchly or Patrick Willis. Not even close

If you just google TOP NFL LINEBACKERS 20??....pick about any year in the last decade...Timmons is almost always in the top 10 on every list....every year....i say almost...because I did not check every page on the internet.

    HACK

    TIMMONS - 460 tackles 14 sacks 8 INT

Proof that perception is not always accurate. Facts of Timmons ability certainly supports the idea he is Top LB in the league

Timmons is IKE Taylor 2.0 How many pro bowls has Timmons been in?
He would be wise to accept a Steeler friendly offer at the end of the season
and finish out his career with the Steelers.

Lmao at judging a player by the pro bowl. I've been one of the loudest get rid of Timmons speakers there has been but in his prime he was one of the top LBers in the game. He simply got overshadowed because he showed up did his job and left. I mean with guys like Harrison, Troy, Woodley, farrior, kiesel, and even Ike with his mouth he was bound to get overlooked. The stats speak for themselves he had better stats than Willis who he was drafted with.
