Well actually the contract signing with 2 years left on players contracts isn't a precedent since they resigned Tommy Maddox with 2 years left on his contract, and Ben had two years remaining on his contract when they gave him a new contract on his second deal even though he didn't sign it till the following year, so they do tend to violate their 2 year policy when it comes to quarterbacks and since they have done it before it isn't breaking a precedent if they did it now for Brown, but according to this article they don't seem interested in giving him a new deal until next year....

We know they only do it for QBs, so AB needs to focus on football and he will get his new deal next year. Colbert already said they don't plan on giving AB a new contract, he needs to ball out and help this team win #7.

They only do that for QB's. Rooney's always will look and do QB's with 2 years. Not anyone else
