Woodley how about you start to work hard! I am sick of excuses on this team. He makes dumb statement about Flaco and then gets hurt for the year. Pulled muscle because out of shape.

Been thinking for a while now about his "the division goes through Pittsburgh" statement and his taunting of Flacco before the 2011 season. That hasn't worked out so well for him.

The only good thing about the Ratbirds going to the Super Bowl, is i hope that this team takes it as a slap in the face and works hard this off season to get into good football shape. Woodley needs to step up and start playing like there paying him. Theres no excuse for the shape some of the players on this team were in this year (especially Woodley)!

In another post I talked about Tomlin's indecisiveness. THE SPECIAL TEAMS COACH AND THE STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING COORIDINATOR SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIRED THE DAY AFTER THE SEASON ENDED!!!

Completely Agree with you on this one! It just seems like its all no big deal to them and they'll get it right next season? Well "next season" just continues be worse than the last season.

Yeah we have one bad season after another! They should fire everybody and disolve the franchise.

WOW! Talk about taking something completely out of context!

question about the strength and conditioning coach

There has been alot of talk about the guy needing fired but before I chime in on the subject I have a few questions about the position. First being how much control over the work out regimen does he actually have? I know that many players take part in their own off season work out plans with their own trainers heck Troy was one of the first players i can remember championing the use of kettle-bells and weight training with just twenty pounds of weights as well as some other alternative training techniques going so far as to suggest the NFL needed to look at a complete nutritional program for the players. So is the S-n-C coach tasked with developing individual workouts for each player? Does he enforce them or let them use their own programs? Does he have a team workout that everyone does as a baseline and then go from there? Does he work with the medical staff and training staff in regards to injured players? Does he have the coaching staff's full support or is he more of a reference tool like a trainer at the gym who tells you if you are lifting right or using a machine correctly? I mean just what are the duties of his staff and how much authority over players do they have?

Out of context is an understatement.

It's about holding coaches and assistants accountable for their unit's performance. In my current position, I have employees that I perform a PDP (Personal Development Plan) on twice a year. I also have one completed by my boss. We sit down and discuss not only strengths, but weaknesses and challenges. At times if those challenges are not addressed and the employee continues to underperform, they may be placed on a PIP (Performance Improvement Plan). That PIP will generally have a structure and a timeframe for improvement. If those parameters are not met, additional action may be taken which could include termination of employment.

If I'm held to these standards and my employees are held to these standards, why does Tomlin seem to have a hard time holding his assistant coaches and coordinators accountable? The problem with not holding people accountable and demonstrating to your other employees that there are repercussions for failure, it becomes a cancer that eats away at the very core of an organization. After a while, the STANDARD becomes MEDIOCRITY.

I think Woodley got the message on Facebook he talks about how he's already started working out it's about time, he needs to show up to camp in shape.
