Even when we had reed at the top of his game, other kickers would come to heinz field and out kick our kickers. But sometimes our field help us out.playoff game against indy and sunday when the pats kicker missed :clapping:

I was in Pittsburgh on Saturday it was cold as was Sunday. Noreaster hit on Saturday and dropped quite a bit of snow. I would say it even further softened an already crappy field.

I think we draft a kicker this year. suisham is a middle of the pack kicker. he sucks at anything over 45 yrds. I know that is not an easy kick but there are kickers who make them consistantly. I havent really looked at the college kickers. anyone know any prospects? I do like the kid from Georgia but dont know if he is a senior

I don't think he missed 5 all last season including the postseason.

Thank you for the numbers, that was what I was looking at. I just don't trust him THIS year with the game on the line.

Bottom line about Suishum. First, obviously theres a reason how many teams cut him before we picked him up? He's an average kicker, always has been always will be. Last year i think he actually kicked better than he ever had. I think this year is more reflective on his past years and last year was more of a fluke. Except of course his first miss last year came in our playoff game. He definitely isnt clutch, never will be, like jeff reed was. I liked as im sure everyone did last year how every kick seemed to be so straight lined no matter what. This year hes pushing and pulling some. And he never had distance. His strength was accuracy inside 50 more like 45. But now those are a struggle for him. Yes it is time for a new kicker IF there was a kicker we could bring in. But i dont think there is. And its hard to think about this problem going back the past decade and a half with our history of great kicker like reed johnson anderson and such...Well, minus kris brown of course, i think my brain makes me forget that period. I do think we should draft a kicker next year. Or where is Reed at now? He was in a slump last year but i totally believe its because the front office made him stop drinking and partying. He was the best most clutch hungover kicker ever. Give him a bottle he'll kick a 55 yarder with his eyes closed. So yea those are my thoughts...
