We are really thin at tight end. Who's out there right now that could help the Steelers

There were a few guys cut who would be an upgrade, but the Steelers don't seem to be making that move. I thought Luke Willson would be a good option.

    Luke Willson would make sense.

I think Gentry will surprise people in the 2nd half of the season.

When Mcdonald goes down for a little midseason R&R I think Gentry will be ready to step in.

    40yd Time NFL Combine: 4.9
40yd Time Michigan Pro Day 4.66

I think once he settles down and starts going through the normal daily routine he will find his groove and make a lot of people here eat there words.

Get ready to hear this if McDonald goes down: Starting Tight End Xavier Grimble. Let that sink in...

Well, we signed Rader to the PS, so if we need someone to drop easy five yard passes, we’re pretty much sorted.

Of course McDonald dropped the pass right in his hands from Ben in game 3. Like Wilson was cut for a reason. We will be fine. Here's a thought, get a starter that's not hurt all the time. Isn't this the same for any team that loses a starting te? Grimble knows the offense and he's always been a better blocker then jesse was.

Gentry might be a useful receiver, but he's a long way from being able to get the job done as a blocker.

I noticed Jake McGee on that list? I know he had injuries but what ever happened to him? He was a great blocker .

Dwayne Allen and ASJ are both upgrades over what we have. If they will come on the cheap I'd take one of them .

We better hope Mcdonald stays healthy, we could be in trouble at this position.

Since Miami is tanking, they should see if the Dolphins would be willing to trade Mike Gesicki.

I know Colbert thinks draft picks are worth their weight in gold but parting with a 3/4/5 rounder may not be a bad idea.

I'd kick the tires on these guys and see what it might take to get in a trade.

    Jeff Heuerman, Denver
    Dalton Schultz, Dallas
    Jonnu Smith, Tennessee
    Ian Thomas, Carolina
    Cameron Brate, Tampa Bay
    Levine Toilolo, San Fran.

Would love that, think he is going to have a good season. That first year is a steep learning curve for TE's. He already looked much better in his second camp.

I heard the Steelers were getting calls on Joshua Dobbs. A lot of teams in need of a back-up, perhaps the Steelers can work a trade and get someone at least better than Grimble.

He was highly recruited. Could of went to Penn State, but he choose Notre Dame instead.

It be a bit of a homecoming if he played for the Steelers. He's more of a blocking TE and this point than a receiving threat. But, he's also never played with a QB like Ben. He was stuck with Bortles in Jacksonville.

Agreed. I think he could give us what James did. He has good hands.

He's never going to be a Vance though.
