Throw Back uniforms?

LOL! I was just getting ready to post this with the caption of "Bumblebee State Penitentiary"!

 

They're so ugly, they're cool.

 

That would be mr rooney himself the story goes he liked the picture of the 34 team but actually thought the unis were black and white but a granddaughter of a player from the team sent him the actual jersey and he seen it was black and gold he decided right then and there those were the next throwbacks

 

I never liked them until I seen one in person last Sunday at a bar I saw an Antonio Brown and M.Wallace not as bad as it looks on a pc monitor

 

The O line just looks silly.

The receivers/backs/d-backs are looking ok.

I wonder if i could buy one?

 

Are we for sure that these are the throwbacks they will be wearing?
I was under the impression that thet would be wearing the 50-60's era uniform?
Believe me they are not much better than the ones shown on this thread, They also bring
back horrible memories for me.Oh god the losing in those pitiful UNies was heart breaking.
The only good thing is the games were played at PITT Stadium.

 

I'm guessing you missed the big unveiling/press conference in the spring. Yes, these are the throwback they'll be wearign this season.

 

I'm one of the few who like them, but it's more to do with honoring the history of the Steelers than the look of the uniforms themselves.

The only thing I've been wondering is if they'll be listed as the "Pirates" on the scoreboard and score overlay on the days they wear them. :-D

 

Maybe these will work out for the running game the way a zebra's stripes do. The Lions can't tell where one zebra ends and the next one begins and so is confused. So maybe, just maybe as our RB's are breaking through the line, they get lost in the stripes of the big OL guys.

 

O.K. Think of it this way. It should be very easy for Ben to spot his target in the passing game.

What happens to our stomachs, after looking at these, after downing a few Irons?

 

Good grief those are the ugliest things I have ever seen. I would rather wear MC Hammer pants with a fanny pack than those stupid looking things! Mark my word some legendary Steelers play will occur while we are wearing these and we will then forever be forced to see them over and over. And I do apologize to those who may still like Hammerpants. In all honesty I used to wear them myself.

 

I wanna see the "STEAGLES" jerseys.

 

As if I didn`t hear enough crap from other team`s fans before...
All I got to say, is, we BETTER win, while we wear these convict jerseys!!! raying:
I guess, theoretically, I can appreciate the idea, that if yer gonna go "old school".. Do it all the way!...
And, I kinda hoped, that when the whole team showed up in them, instead of just Redman, or an individual, showing up in them, for the initial press conference/ release of the uni`s.. It would look better...

Anyhow, I`m sure the official site, lists which games we wear these in, but I haven`t looked. Anyone know who we play, while wearing these "Bumblebee Outfits"?
I`m guessin 2 games... Just dunno which ones...

Here is what I heard:

Reebok had exclusive rights to produce the 50s/60s era uniforms. When Nike became the new NFL provider, they would not and could not produce the same throwbacks, so the Steelers had to come up with a new throwback. I would have preferred the late 60s "diamond yoke" to be honest, but oh well. We have what we have, apparently, because of apparel contracts and disarray.

 

Oct. 28 vs Redskins and Nov. 18 vs the Ravens

 

Thanx, Thomas... GREAT... I`m sure those will both be NATIONALLY televised...
Again, we just better win them both! At least then, I will have an easy answer to the heckeling that is sure to follow...

 

Right? I mean why would we wear those against the Ravens??? Why not against a non division team so it would not be on TV??? They would be so much better if the pants were BLACK!!
