Should be as long as it is broadcast, with typical blackouts. I'd settle for All-22 with no announcers.

Agreed. I get that they could move this one by shifting the bye weeks for the Steelers, Titans and Ravens, but that makes little sense given that this is almost definitely going to happen again.

Kudos to steelersrock for using “piqued” and not “peaked”.

There was a great deal of college football then, I wonder what they did?
For sure, the Spanish Flu hit victims quickly. IIRC, one major outbreak was after a parade in Philadelphia and people started to drop hours after they had stood in lines along the parade route.
I’m going to look for some of those pictures of crowds wearing masks in 1918.

I thought my wife joined the board for a minute. Just kidding but she is constantly correcting me and others are the proper use of the English language. I simply reply yinz knows what I mean.

Shortened seasons, delayed seasons, created teams from military posts, some schools opted not to play at all. The Army-Navy game wasn’t played. There’s a pic from a Georgia tech home game in the link below. Looks like pretty much everybody in the stands is wearing a mask.

“Marshal Law” is the one that makes me grind my teeth at this time.

I grew up speaking a southern dialect of Pittsburghese, so to me it would properly be “yunz” rather than “yinz”, but I get your point. It reminded me that when Pittsburgh got a USFL franchise, Burger King had a contest to name it. I took stacks of entry forms, and filled them out with the name “Pittsburgh Yunz”. I did this for weeks, I was a Pitt student, and had a job as a parking garage attendant in the evening, it was summer, no classes, so I had a lot of time. I made copies on a copy machine, I enlisted fraternity brothers to help. Every day I had a few hundred completed forms and dropped them into the ballot bot, bought a coffee, and went in to work. I even made a “Pittsburgh Yunz USFL” t shirt.
When they announced the winner, it was “Maulers”, though one news account did mention that “Yunz” had an unusual number of votes. Oh well, I tried.....

Anyway, the pictures show that nothing is new. Science and medicine have conquered so many diseases that we have collectively lost our respect for them and forgotten how to cope.

What a bummer. Good news is we should remain undefeated after beating the eagles next week thus being 4-0 since 1979 lol
