Three Tennessee players, five personnel test positive for COVID-19

Ugh. I hope this doesn't have any impact on our game Sunday.

 

It's tough to imagine the game is played if this happens.

Mother ------- NHL had their finals, (congrats TB) MLB has started Playoffs, NBA doing OK. I was sure those were good omens. Man I will be super pissed if this slows the NFL.

 

Can the Titans just forfeit

 

Is there a precedent for this? Has the league said what will happen if a team cannot play due to COVID?

This is why they have different rules for the practice squad and injured reserve list players this year. The players who test positive won’t be able to participate.

No way they will play this Sunday, the Titans can't even practice until Saturday, it will be rescheduled.

 

If you can't show up for the game then you should forfeit. Then maybe organizations and players will take it seriously.

Seems like this is an issue that could/should impact whether they play on Sunday.

I think they should just forfeit. That would be the socially responsible thing to do.

But seriously, if some of the team are getting it, then the rest of the team has likely been in contact with them. If we play them and start coming down with it, I'm going to be pissed.

That doesn't do any good, the Titans can't practice, the Steelers will have an unfair advantage.

 

Considering everything, the league perhaps should have built in a couple of bye weeks for each team that can be floated. Not easy to do but the only thing we can really draw upon is the shortened/altered MLB season during the 1918-19 pandemic when they had to improvise.
